    Post Op Blood Work

High B12 is common after surgery. Mine is always over 1000. In fact, I know vets who swear they feel better if theirs is over 1000. The only time my clinic ever said anything about my high B12 level was when it went over 2000 a few years back. And even then, they just suggested I cut back a bit on my supplement. Otherwise, it's met with a shrug. weird liver numbers are also pretty common after surgery. Rapid weight loss is hard on livers. My liver numbers didn't settle down until I was a year (or maybe more) out...but they did eventually stabilize (i.e., in the normal range). P.S. those hemoglobin and MCHC levels are so close to normal that I wouldn't worry about them. Your doctor or surgeon will let you know if they're in issue, but I'm guessing they're probably fine.

I Just had surgery my on the 14th, I am feeling pretty good. The first night in the hospital I was very nauseous so they gave me some other drug to help with that so I could keep my water done. I felt fine after that. I drank about 2oz of broth, and sipped on ice chips and water. Today I am home and really all i feel is the incisions. and on my right side, i believe that is where they pulled it out. I have 6 incisions. along my belly line. I have been doing SF popsicles and ice cips and water, I think I have had at least 6oz of water today and 2 oz broth and two SF popsicles. But I am feeling hungry for sure.

    February 2024 Surgery Buddies?

Filing that advice away for next week. I'm not allowed to have it yet, but cream of wheat in on my post-op diet. I guess they don't want the carbs for the liver shrinking but it's okay after, or something. I already bought some and will welcome anything that isn't the same old stuff I've had for the past 10 days!

    goal achieved!

Nice!! Congratulations! I've changed my goal twice. I have 4 lbs to go to get to my current goal and I'm 9 months out as well. I don't think I want to loose any more than that. It's been a heck of a ride I'm so glad I got on. My life has changed so much

    February 2024 Surgery Buddies?

Congrats! I'm glad to hear you aren't in too much pain. I keep hearing about the gas pain and am not looking forward to that. I'm excited about the fact that you are able to come here and post something already!

What are good problems you have?!

I'm the poster child for Goodwill ! My sizes are changing so fast, I'm always buying ,wearing and re-donating them. I tell myself I'm just "renting" the clothes...LOL The BEST thing that's happened is I'm off ALL of my meds ,no longer pre-diabetes and my last blood pressure was 110/70 . That's unheard of for me So far, those are the best "problems" I'm having !!!!

My newest NSV. Life is so tough now. I have just caught myself complaining that there is too much choice in the clothing sites online. I used to rage when I could not find clothes in my pre op size.
