    Is this a stall ?

    Yes this ! I have gone from 45 years with a gas cooker, to a house that's all electric and I got a fan oven to boot. I might crack the temperatures before I die. I take your point about the plate and why do we baby our men ?

    I am shocked that she said go back to liquids, that seems like really bad advice. You would be hungrier than ever as they just go straight through the pouch. I once had a stall of over 2 months, it was so tough but then I dropped 5lbs over night. I was only on roughly 800 cals a day then. Stall are the pits I have 5 small meals a day. It works for me. Just find what works for you.

    There are some good dieticians & there are some … well… lousy ones. Is there any way you could find another dietician? Telling you to go to back to shakes is a bad suggestion like @summerseeker said. They should have gone through what you’ve been eating & make suggestions from there. The goal is to be eating real food not highly processed synthesised shakes loaded with artificial sweeteners & such. Stalls are frustrating. No way aground that but they are an important part of your weight loss when your body takes stock of your new needs & adjusts digestive hormones, etc. Best advice is to stick to your plan. Don’t make changes & stress your body more. The stall will break when your body is ready. Good advice from @summerseeker too about going back to the basics of protein first, then vegetables & then low processed complex multi/ whole grain carbs if you can eat more. Make cause you’re hitting your protein & fluid goals. Calories are a bit of a touchy issue at the moment in the medical world. Some are anti some are pro. A lot is around a calorie is a calorie regardless of what the food source is versus nutrient value. Plus, caloric needs differs so much person to person - age, gender, activity, metabolism, general health, hormones, etc. all affect how many you need. Personally I think if you are eating nutrient dense food, having an idea of calories can help you stay on track & guide you if you’re sliding.

    I did it on janurary 29th... Part of me is regretting it but the other is just giving it a chance. I havent lost much weight so far, maybe like 6 pounds some thing like that. My mental health is just okay for now, but It's just frustrating to not being able to eat whatever I want... If you want, we can talk about our challenges ! i'm here for you if you need anything

    If you do try Crossfit, try to meet some/all of the people on the first day. Having gym friends really helps you stay accountable and make everything more fun. But, be prepared to be surprised at how weak you are (if you know how much you could lift before). I lost 40-50% of my strength post surgery (went back to Crossfit about a month after surgery) and it has pretty much stayed gone (I'm about 35% weaker now. 9 months out)

    I told everyone the reason I wasn't leaving my house during the two weeks of my liquid diet was so I wouldn't risk catching Covid, but I think a close second is to not accidentally run into the local Girl Scouts and their addictive boxes of delight. Thankfully, I no longer personally know someone I need to order from. But given that I've had nothing but protein shakes and jello for going on a week, I might seriously consider selling my soul for Thin Mint right now. Or a carrot. Seriously, anything crunchy right now would do.

    February 2024 Surgery Buddies?

    Day 5 out of 14 on the pre-op diet and I've settled into somewhat of a routine. I do a Bariatric Fusion cappuccino shake at breakfast with a 20 oz decaf tea that has 1/2 cup Fairlife milk and a scoop of collagen in it. Oikos triple zero yogurt for a mid-morning snack. Bariatric Fusion chicken soup shake for lunch. Jello for snack. 2 scoops Syntrax Nectar unflavored powder in one cup of Pacific Foods tomato basil soup for dinner. Jello for dessert. Sometimes a Good Night protein hot cocoa before bed if I'm hungry. I also take my chewable Celebrate One 45 vitamin, 3 celebrate calcium chews, 2 scoops of Benefiber, Vitagut liquid probiotic, and a liquid omega 3. Believe it or not, all of those supplements add 160 calories and 14g carb to my day! I also drink three 32oz waters with a sugar free flavor packet in each. Total average daily macros: 850 calories, 105g protein, 11g fat, 50g carb Weight loss so far: 7lbs

    Gone off food completely! 9 days post op

    Perfectly normal. Things suddenly become disgusting - taste, texture or smell can be the cause. It lasts a couple of months +/-. For me the shakes became extremely grainy & I couldn’t tolerate them & other foods seemed overly sweet or salty. Some find foods they didn’t like before suddenly taste delicious. Good opportunity not to reintroduce certain flavours back into your diet (like sugars) & to try new foods. These first couple of months can be challenging. Trying to find foods your tummy will tolerate. Food you eat one day easily the next day your tummy is no way. Not feeling hungry or interested in eating. … I used to say my tummy was like a petulant, temper tantrum throwing 2 year old. I never knew what the day would bring.
