    Happy Holidays

I just want to say to all on these forums who celebrate - Happy Holidays. To anyone who is currently in pre-op diet stage or immediately after post-op - hang in there. You are troupers and you’ve got this. Big hugs to all.

    No energy

You’ve just had a major surgery that has about a 8 week recovery so feeling low in energy, weak, lethargic, etc. is pretty normal. Remember you are consuming calories (just drinking them not eating them) & your body is burning your stored energy which you want it do. Try adding an electrolyte drink as one of your fluids for an energy boost. They can be sweet so I diluted mine - doubled the water added. I used hydralite & would sip it with my other liquids throughout the day. Listen to your body, rest if you need to & pace yourself through the day.

    7 Months Post Op Normalities?

I’ve had mine on May 3rd. Best decision ever. I’ve been at my lowest weight in almost 10 years. Around the 5 month mark, Ive plateau. I’m still dropping some weight but a lot slower than I want. Hopefully the next 5 months, I’ll reach my goal weight.

    Roux Limb Syndrome

I'll call the surgeon's office after Christmas weekend to see if they can shed some light. My GI doctor is out as well. Yesterday was so bad and lasted way longer than it normally does.

    Food Before and After Photos

Pizza ish. I used a mini naan bread and spoon full of tomato basil soup that was already cooking. The real star is the turkey pepperoni, which next time I’ll just eat alone.

    My Surgery is Tomorrow!! Dec/13/23

Thanks for updating us and I'm so glad you are slowly feeling better. For about the first week, I had to sleep on my back and I am a side sleeper. It was such a struggle!!!! I hated it and definitely woke up several times a night. Whenever I wanted to try to side sleep, the weight of my belly pulling down where the stitches were was not fun. However around my second week or so, I was able to sleep on my sides with just gentle maneuvering. I also used a C pillow which helped with support. And before I knew it, I was able to sleep as I had before. It might take a little longer for the stomach sleeping more so because the inside stitches will take longer to heal and it might not feel comfortable, but side sleeping should be closer around the bend.
