    Sick of Protein Shakes

I was always ready for the next phase after the monotony, though I was discharged from the hospital on the pureed stage. I did not have any liquid only phase post-op. I was on yogurt, ricotta (ricotta bake was a lifesaver), pureed soups. The shakes were hard to get down. I couldn't manage 2 a day. Protein water was a good option to change up the flavor and not just the creamy stuff. Half applesauce and half greek yogurt was a decent changeup. When I was first cleared for eggs, I couldn't stomach one scrambled egg. I found the soft boiled egg far easier to tolerate. I don't typically have protein shakes now, but I do still like them as my base for coffee every now and again.

    Sick of Protein Shakes

i totally understand those sentiments. i am so sick of protein shakes. ..i would rather not eat than drink another! I think having full liquids 14 days prior to surgery AND continue after surgery is exhausting. they should change the preop. if I only had 2 weeks after surgery, this would be a breeze at 1 week in. but i was literally done with shakes before surgery! LOL.

    Premier Potein question

Everyone's gut is a little different. Any brand of protein shakes will slow things down for me if I have 2 or more per day. My friend who had previous surgery is the opposite, they have to run to a bathroom within an hour of drinking one. Not sure if its the gut biome or other biological factors, but it can definitely be the cause for some.

WHOOOO! I needed a "formal" dress for a Charity event. I walked in, saw a dress I liked, grabbed a size. Tried it on an BAM! DONE!!!! Never in a million years would this happen. Normally it would be 45 stores, 2 weeks of looking and basically finding something I hate but fits.. WHOOOOO HOOO Also- I HIT MY FIRST "ORIGINAL" GOAL THIS WEEK! This was what my surgeon and myself agreed on from my initial appointment and I am perfectly fine here.. but my "updated" goal is just there to be able to say I lost half of my original body weight!

    OOTD

they really should just sell clothes based on their actual measurements. forget this arbitrary sizing across manufacturers! i find men's clothing does a better job of this (some but not all). men's pants are sold by waist measurement and inseam. suits by chest measurement. shirts by neck circumference. this is a more standardized way of doing things, man! anyway, just venting...im still bummed about my shopping lol. as for the vaccum it wasn't even for me. bought it for the Kid's dorm. ...but at least i got a good deal! ha!

Tracking what you are eating may help you. I have not had my surgery yet, but I use an app to track what I eat. It is called Bariatastic and is free. It will track your calories, protein, carbs, fat, etc. It also will remind you about drinking water and taking vitamins. Also has some really good recipes.

I think that you really need to contact your team. You need some real help here. Its not normal to feel permanently hungry after this surgery. Occasional head hunger is more usual. Do you feel a restriction ? You really need to fill yourself with good quality food now. Has your team said you must keep carbs out of your diet ? I ask because you sound as if you eat protein or carbs. Your body needs the protein to function well. Eat your protein first, then the vegetables and then you can eat the carbs. Try to eat better carbs like fruits, skin on potatoes, brown rice and pasta and quality wholemeal or seeded bread. You are more than likely eating 2000 plus calories a day because you are at a plateau now. The only way to reverse this is to reduce your calories and eat better. Find a calorie tracker you like and be honest with it.
