I love that you kept working at health even though it was hard! That determination is amazing! Please keep us informed on your progress, even if you don’t think it’s progress. I’m cheering here in MA!

I have never heard of the golden time being only 3 months. I lost a great deal up till 14 months or so. I am still in a calorie deficit, I eat about 1200 cals a day and on a hungry day maybe 1500 cals. My loses are tiny now but still going down. I am 21 months out, ancient and the only exercise I get is walking and housework. We are so used to having failed diets in the past that it's hard to break the diet mentality. Your body will loose what it needs to. Eat good calories, stick to your teams diet and sit back and watch yourself shrink. In 12 months you will not believe who is staring back at you in the mirror. Have patience. Sent from my Lenovo TB-J606F using BariatricPal mobile app

Eggs are notoriously difficult for many to eat in the beginning (chicken is another troublesome food) so it could be that. Actually for a while you may find there are a few foods your tummy says no to for seemingly no logical reason (it can be a fussy, petulant, temper throwing two yr old for a while). Or it could be while your team said your ready for the next stage, your tummy actually isn’t. It’s not uncommon to move to the next stage but your tummy says no so you go back to the previous stage for a few more days. Or it could be hat the serve was too much for you & your tummy protested. Your team will advise on portion sizes but sometimes it takes time to build up to that size. You can only eat what you can eat. Don’t force yourself to eat more than you can. Some days you just don’t want that much - it’s all part of learning to listen to your body & it’s signals & needs. You can graze on it a little later on or not bother with it at all. My fridge was frequently filled with unfinished meals. it would take me three days to eat two scrambled eggs - I just portioned it up & reheated the next portion the next day. Try sipping a warm drink like a herbal or green tea. I often find a warm drink like tea soothing. (And yes it counts as a fluid.) Dumping is a response to eating something that is high fat or high sugar. It’s actually not that common & if it does effect you it’s easy to ensure it doesn’t happen again by avoiding those foods. All the best.

Hello, I know stalls are frustrating, but we all have them. Your body has to adjust and that is what happens when you stall in the beginning, once you re further out, you have to look at what you are eating, how much, and if you are exercising enough. As far as 32 pounds in 2 months... sounds good to me. Its more than you probably lost in 2 month pre-surgery. 😊

    7 days post op

I only lost 5 lbs by my first post appointment 7 days out. I’m 17 days out now. I know I’ve lost more based on the way my clothes fit but I haven’t weighed myself yet. Waiting for my phase change appt next week.

    August surgery buddies!

1 year mark check ins? Well, tomorrow is officially 1 year for me. I am down 102 pound since surgery and 124.8 since my Pre-op. I have definitely slowed to a crawl on the weight loss at this point. The last couple months I have barely lost anything. But, I will take this weight over where I was.

How soon did you travel after VSG?

Hey there, little late but I flew to tijuana for vsg. I flew home 3 days after my surgery. I was in the airport all day long. I did fine, but was on an all liquid diet so barely getting 200 calories a day. You'll be almost a month PO so you should be fine. Bring healthy snacks & a water bottle with you. Also, I CANNOT EXPRESS enough, wear compression socks! I always wear them when flying & for whatever reason I didn't wear them flying home & my legs, ankles & feet were so swollen it was painful & awful. Took 2 days of icing & wearing compression socks all day & elevating my feet in the recliner to get them to go down. Hope this helps! Any other questions let me know 👍

Hey Knightsaber88, I don't know what your current weight is and I can only share my story. I struggled with my weight all my life, gradually gaining and gaining and at 53 years old I found myself weight 168kgs. As you get older things start to go wrong, blood pressure starts to go up, you become more at risk of diabetes, the ongoing weight means you are at risk of several different cancers. cholesterol and all sorts of other problems. I can't say you should do it but I can say it was the right decision for me. Only you can make the decision and if you are not getting the support you need. I suggest you speak to a psychologist or councellor as well as your doctor before you decide. Here is some of the plusses for me:
