    GB Stalls - 8mos out

stalls became more frequent the further out I got. And they tended to last longer, too. Every time I'd hit one, I'd think "well, this must be it...", but then my weight loss would eventually start up again. I kept losing until about the two year mark. It was slow going after the first year, though.

    Unflavored protein powder

LMAO. Oh I understand not wanting to consume something that doesn't taste good. I try to rehome the things that don't work for me, lol. I had bought a bunch of those Crystal Light packets and squeezies and the Starburst stuff since I heard a lot of people have trouble with just plain water. I can't stand the fake sugar taste of them and just could not drink them at all. I gave the whole collection to my cousin who enjoys them. The only one that taste good to me is the True Lemon ones. Thankfully plain ole water is still my best friend. I've wasted money on funky protein water (Recovery water was no bueno to me), calcium chews in dessert flavors are not tasty to me (fruity girl all the way), too many chewable vitamins, not great ready made shakes etc etc. So I understand completely. I will continue to pray for all our wallets, lol.

Just make sure you're taking progress photos for yourself. It crazy to look back and comes in handy during a stall.

A future NSV for me will be when I lift the ban of no pictures posted of me on Facebook. At my heaviest, I had family taking pics at get togethers and posting online. I hated it and told them not to and yes, it's a pride thing. I don't know at what point I will feel comfortable with it again but I can't be the only one here who doesn't want their overweight photos online for everyone to see??? I'm looking forward to the day that I'll be OK with it.

    Weight loss shots

I think they are amazing medications for weight loss and certainly worth a good try! I just find it frustrating as a diabetic that there are shortages that affect my dosing schedule. I had a similar issue with Plaquenil, the arthritis med that everyone suddenly wanted when they thought it might be useful for Covid. I don't begrudge anyone else a go at the meds, I just think pharmacies should put aside a portion of their stock for their regular diabetic patients since it impacts us so much when we can't get our monthly supply...

I had my two month anniversary, and second post op exam/meeting. Bloods good, I lost 35 lbs so far, but one of the drivers for me was Barrett's and the GERD I was experiencing is largely gone. I still take an H2 blocker as a precaution and got cleared for real exercise, not just walking. (Had a hiatal hernia that got repaired). I gotta say, having done this, I couldn't be happier. Yes, I'm still trying to draw lines but the surgeon said to measure portions, even though his dietitian does not address portion size. I think it is important to have resources as you go through this, not just for support, but for info. I consider this such a place. I'm far more mobile and agile, can do stuff I couldn't before because of oversize/bloat/weight. I'm fitting into clothes that I couldn't. Not that this should be a reason, it's just a benefit.

    Easy way out

Same here. I'm usually kind to others, male or female but if they cross me all bets are off. xD I used to work in an all-women's health club and have never seen so much competition and cattiness firsthand. Sad but true. I have since adopted this methodology.

    Easy way out

What everyone else said, plus screw 'em. For me, I did this for me. My health. My confidence. My life. Next time, I'd just walk away and tell them I don't need your judgment and negativity. Sorry that happened to you. People can be so insensitive.
