    Eating Too Fast

i did this too. i set the timer on my watch to make me wait between bites. and yes, it took me FOREVER. i was known to sit with my sad, room-temp bowl of food for 1.5 to two hours. it was interesting. after a couple months i was able to do it without the timer. BUT i do still have the rare occasion when i still eat too fast (and im 4.5+ years out). its hard to be mindful 100% of the time. but i do my best.

Hey, hi, person with a banana and kiwi allergy thanks to latex fruit syndrome! 🙃 Annnd what you’re both describing is exactly how my fruit allergies started out. The only thing in my life that had changed was pregnancies and their c-sections. My banana one has progressed to my coworkers trying to kill me with fruit. (That’s mostly a joke… but sometimes they don’t wash their hands. See below) Also, here’s link to a list that contains foods that may also cause issues. https://allergyasthmanetwork.org/allergies/latex-allergy/latex-allergy-foods/

I've had 2 sets of surgeries and have traveled for both of them, as have some of my friends. Never had issues with recoveries and pain was always manageable. I had friends/family stay with me, but no medical care was provided. More like make me a sandwhich type care I stayed two weeks each time, which was more time than I needed. I've also known people who were very happy with recovery home stays

    Lost-gain-lose again?

yep. ive been gaining and losing the same 5-ish lbs for 4 years. like the others above, i always keep an eye on it. if i stay outside that range for too long (how long exactly depends on my mood, what im doing at the time - am i on vacation? am i sick? is it the holiday season? etc..), then i make conscious efforts to get back into my happy range. its said on here alot: its easier and less overwhelming to try lose 5-10lbs than to try to lose 50. With that said, sometimes we also have to weigh the desire to be a certain weight vs the willingness to put in efforts required to achieve and maintain it. I mean, sure weighing less than 115 lbs was a very accomplishing feeling for me (i was walking around like i was all that and a bag of chips) and i really liked how my body looked (but not my face, but thats a different story), BUT..i realized i was putting in waaaay more effort than i really wanted to. now (4.5+ yrs post) i put in just a small fraction of the effort and time and brain/thinking power i used to, in exchange for being at peace with staying under 125. i am much more relaxed, thats for sure. plus i still think i look pretty good, lol. I feel like i went off on a tangent there... Can people lose regain? Yes. Do u want to? That's up to you. Good Luck! ❤️

    Bariatric surgery - long term

Had vsg in my fifties, had vsg to rny revision recently (almost 2 yrs ago) in my 60s (gerd related). It's been great. Maintained 100+ weightloss over the years. My weightloss rate was on par with others much younger than myself. I had no complications, recovery was very easy for me. As far as long term success, after the honeymoon period, and hunger returns, long term weightloss requires some discipline in following your plan. But since you are already practicing good habits since 2015, you are ahead in the game, and I think you will be very successful.

    Sleeve to RNY

I'm going to be getting my revision sometime in July. My surgeon said that with the revision, expect to lose about 40-45% of the weight you would have lost if it was your original surgery. So he said I could expect to lose about 60-65 pounds in a year for my current weight and BMI. I lost 116 pounds in a year with the sleeve, so if I can lose another 65 pounds in a year with my revision, I'll be ecstatic. I'm really good at watching my diet and working out, so I think my "dream goal" is to lose 75 pounds in a year with the revision, but my "realistic goal" is the 60-65 in a year. We'll see. I would be lower than I am now if I hadn't run into so many complications and health issues. But this revision is going to get me back to living my life so I can refocus on my health and weight loss.
