    Lost all motivation

So sorry to hear that you are with a piece of ****. “Never attracted.” “Emotionally invested”? What the heck. I hope you can look in the mirror and be proud of what you are doing and how far you have come. I hope you can find the strength to know you deserve to be loved and supported the way YOU need. I hope your children can look at you and say damn, my momma is so strong she don’t take **** from anyone. You deserve to be respected and if you have to ask for that then maybe it’s not the right relationship. 💕💗💕

    Bariatric Myths??

Oh yes. I’m always surprised by how often people still say they’re getting a gastric band & that they’re still offered as an option. It takes very little reading to discover all the issues with them. I remember when I was researching options pre surgery I was quite astounded by the problems & so very quickly ruled it out. No way!

    Lost all motivation

Hey, I'm about 6 months out from my sleeve. I've lost about 90lbs from my surgery date. I have been working out and eating my best. However, my life has changed dramatically in the last 2 months. So it was already difficult to find time to workout. I felt like my weight-loss goals were starting to be pushed back for other obligations such as my new job, my kiddos sports schedules, summer break, and such. So finding the motivation at 5am or at 10pm to workout was tough but I was doing it. Then about 2 weeks ago, my husband and I got into an argument. He confesses that he isn't attracted to me and never was. He said he loves me for other reasons and he was emotionally invested before we met in person. We've been together since 2007. I know I should be working out and losing weight for myself and my kids but I feel like the rug has been pulled out from under me. All my motivation is gone. Why workout if the man you'll be with forever isn't satisfied either way? I feel heartbroken and betrayed. Am I being too dramatic or shallow? Sent from my SM-S115DL using BariatricPal mobile app

I had the sleeve done in 2017 and lost about 75 lbs. I have gained about 20 of that back now. BUT the main reason I am having a revision done is because of the awful acid reflux I've had since my sleeve surgery. It seems to be getting worse too. I am 63 yrs old but I just can't handle it anymore. If I'd have known this before, I would definitely have done the bypass then.

As far as cooking. Most recipes can be modified to fit our diets. Please continue to enjoy cooking and your beautiful cookbooks. Eating after surgery and healed doesn't have to be bland and boring.

Getting the sleeve isnt guaranteed to prevent you from developing dumping syndrome; there are less of us but I am a sleeve patient who dumps. I wouldn't let that be your sole deciding factor. In the event you are someone who has this issue, there are ways to avoid it and you learn your triggers.

    JUNE SURGERY BUDDIES

I will post as soon as I can after the surgery. Thank you everyone for your support, it meant a lot and made my journey easier. I hope that this surgery will help me reverse diabetes, reverse atrial fibrillation (if the Aussies are right, weight loss can actually reverse this heart arrhythmia in the first year after diagnosis, this is a new discovery from Australia), heal the Barrett’s Esophagus (that is what the doc said, the pre cancerous cells will heal with time after the bypass), decrease the future chances of pulmonary embolism, and last but not least allow the sleep without a CPAP. All of these with one single surgery! Even if only one of these gets resolved, life is longer . Wishing everyone a wonderful peaceful night!

Not silly. Food funerals are real. Before my surgery I had wings and ice cream. Now that surgery is over I’m not feeling hungry I don’t have cravings either. I can smell the bacon my wife has cooked and it has no appeal. There is such a connection with food, making plans with friends visiting family… all have something to do with food. Would t it be nice to have someone say hey let’s get together and skip rocks at the lake or something. Stay strong and you are aloud to mourn.
