    How long to see improvement?

Your body has just been through major trauma & is still healing & adjusting to your new normal! It’s gonna take a couple of weeks. Listen to your body & don’t do too much too soon!

    Feeling pretty low

It gets better trust me, in 12 months time how you are feeling now will be hard to remember. I felt like this and even worse at times but I am fine now. Focus on the improvements each . Once you are eating normal food you will feel even better. Remember your hormones are out of whack now too so that won't be helping with your moods either. I actually started HRT patches to help stabilise my moods, I was perimenopausal prior to surgery though. Big hugs it does get better. My counsellor also said we go through a grieving process too which makes sense. I went through all of those emotions.

    Any April Surgery Dates?

My Bypass is April 4th. I am new to this group. I am excited and nervous at the same time. The diet is going well though I did cheat a little one day. Hopefully it won’t matter since I am on the pre-op diet for 24 days. I have already lost over 10 lbs!

    Getting Excited

I've yo yo'd my entire life and kept most all my clothes over the years in sizes all the way down to 12s, hoping to one day fit back into them. It will be fun to clean closet with sizes going down rather than up. 🙃

    Getting Excited

I do still have a few "when i lose this weight" items I've had in the back of the closet that were suppose to be my motivation 😂

    Getting Excited

Clothes browsing and wish-listing was honestly the best distraction and motivation pre and post-surgery. You'll be startled by how quickly you shrink through the sizes on your way to goal! Absolutely advise buying second-hand during the losing phase where possible, because the window of time with each size down is maybe a month or two. I ended up passing on items to goodwill that I didn't even get to wear!

Eating and drinking at same time.

Early on I forgot and had a sip. It hurt so badly that I wouldn’t do it again. It’s for life. I was a nanny for a child with failure to thrive issues, and his dietitian suggested giving him milk (full fat) during meals to help him gain weight, stuffs more food into him. Mmmm, more weight on is not my goal.

Eating and drinking at same time.

yep - it's a rule for life. I got used to it pretty quickly, though.
