    February 2023 surgery dates!

Hey! I just scheduled my surgery date and I got to schedule it the day I was hoping! February 21st. Anyone else have a February surgery date?? Maybe we can help each other!

I scheduled my remaining dietary appointments today! My 12th and final dietary is April 3rd. I've completed all my requirements and I'm really hoping to be approved and scheduled by the end of April! I'm getting really excited that I can see the end of this process in sight! I'm really looking forward to getting to surgery day and starting a whole new journey!!

Yes, I'm the same as you!! I didn't lose all my weight with the sleeve as well and I'm hoping I end up losing just as much, if not more. I agree that if it was an amazing loss, you'd remember. Haha! But man, I hope it works out for you. If you are in the States, you could also try Ozempic, Wegovy, or Mounjaro or something? Idk. This is what I'm seeing going around the revision fb groups and people are having crazy success. However, I think most regain once they're off of it. Hmmm, yeah.. It does seem like converting might be the better option but I'm no doctor. Everything else just seems like a quick fix, you know? How long does she want you on it?

    What changes?

They are hard to read! I remember during grad school thinking who the hell do they write these papers/journals/articles for? Them selves 🤣 You’re right so much is still unknown but A team of researcher actually looked at this and found that the division of the stomach causes ghrelin levels to drop (tested during surgery). What I’m still trying to find information on is what changes occur after revision surgery from VSG to RNY.

I'm 20 years post-op. I expect to start warming up any day now. Any day now. Good luck, Tek

    Carbohydrates

You should follow the plan set out by your surgical team. Every team has their own nutrition plan, and no two are exactly the same. Some plans heavily restrict carbs of various kinds for longer, some don't restrict at all. It is HIGHLY dependent on your team, so the going advice is to defer to your plan.

    November 2022 Surgery Buddies

Hope everyone is doing well. I’m officially 3 months and almost a week out of surgery and 60 pound down since first thinking about WLS and that puts me at 50% weight loss from what I put as my goal weight. Had my 3month appointment last week. We went over calorie goals, macro distribution, any issues we are having and learning curves. We went over goal weight and the RN said that most of the patients say they have 20-30lbs to go on the 6-month appointment and during that appointment is when we go over the goal weight we should be aiming for and what we need to change to reach that. I should be able to get back on track with protein, fluids and exercise this week. I’m going to start with having protein shakes again at least daily (some days I was trying to meet it only with food) and carrying my 48oz water bottle with me every where and go back to weighing myself weekly. Wishing everyone good and positive energy in your journey!

    ESG Surgery 03/14/23!

I like the Premier Protein Clear, they have tropical punch and peach, they are pretty easy to get down. Congratulations!

Technically, they should not even be asking in a professional environment. But, tell them an old gypsy touched your cheek and whispered “thinner”. Then walk away. That’s sure to get a laugh.
