    2 years Post OP

I'm almost 2 years op post VGS. I had lost a total of 80lbs but in the last few months I have managed to gain 30lbs. I've gotten back into my old habits and I feel like a complete loser. I don't know where to go from here. I want to reach out to my doctor to help me get back on track but again I feel like I've failed and I'm embarassed. Does anyone have any advice on how to get back on track? Any help is appreciated.

    Questions - Contemplating Surgery

Thank you so much for the reply. I have been in therapy for a year and I luckily have a great relationship with my therapist. It really helps to hear a story like yours. I think my fear is normal. I have failed so many times before. My health is bad. I’m 5’2” and 235 lbs and I can feel the heart attack coming. I can’t live like this anymore. I’m not really living. I’m submitting the forms for Dr.Alvarez at Endobariatric. I moved from Florida to Asheville and then to Morganton. I am planning to sell my house and go back towards Asheville. I miss it there. A bit more vibrant and much better social opportunities.

    I just don't know

**Update** I did discuss things with him and he seemed to understand but it was definitely underlying insecurity. He has lately been constantly telling me what men at work are looking at me and "like me" We haven't ever dealt with this before but I don't like it at all. Overall I think he doesn't trust me and that really sucks. I think counseling is the remedy if he agrees to it and if not we may very well be another couple/ relationship ended.

I love that analogy so very much. It’s like a form of self parenting. I am going to journal about this and make a little sign for my surgery /weight loss success self care box. 💜

    So depressed about my hair

For those of you who have have very light colored hair (blonde, grey/white).....BABY POWDER! In a pinch when I need to extend my shampooing, instead of using dry shampoo, I discovered baby powder. It hides my scalp, absorbs excess oil and thickens my hair.

    February 2023 surgery dates!

Kept busy all morning. Checked in for pre-op and keeping my nerves under control. My tween gave me a stuffy and a card to remind me that I am strong and I've got this!

Post op day 1 vsg to bypass

Surgery went well. Some pain in the larger 4mm incision where he put in the stapler but Tylenol and some IV pain meds and I’m ok. Heading home now (1 overnight) have a timer set for every 15min for my Fluid. A bit scared I’ll burst my pouch (I can be a worrier) but so far so good. Gonna miss taking big slugs of Water but not going to miss the GERD.
