HEY ALL! New here! 🥰 Just had my sleeve surgery on Feb 7th! Day 5 post-op and feel almost entirely normal…minus the lovely incision areas and a hint of soreness if I use my abdominal muscles too much. Anyone else make it through surgery and the follow-up days without puking?? Several friends had the sleeve and I was warned that the vomiting would be relentless. I was nauseous the first 2 days, but not enough to vomit. Just curious if I’m the oddball or my friends are! 🤣 Looking forward to meeting some fellow baria-tastic-besties here!!
I was thinking about you this morning, and I had a thought... Perhaps this stuff is happening now, because you are so much healthier. If you would have had these health issues when you were heavier, you might not have had the best outcome.
Hugs!
I’d probably ring the surgeon’s office to be sure. There may be a concern over the congestion restricting your breathing during the surgery or in the first days post surgery. If they do delay it may only be for a few days. The surgery is fairly major & you do want to be in your best health possible even if it is just a cold.
I was at my high weight back in 2008 so it's been awhile since I got questions but when asked how I stay so small, I just say what I have been doing since 2008. Calorie deficit and tracking is what works for me. No one wants to hear that so they never bother me again. lol I guess they want to hear a fad diet or a magic pill.
Technically, they should not even be asking in a professional environment.
But, tell them an old gypsy touched your cheek and whispered “thinner”. Then walk away. That’s sure to get a laugh.
Dear Sunshine Princess, the only person who's being really judgmental on this thread so far seems to be you.
This is at least bordering the line to insult if not crossing it and I'd recommend taking it down a notch or two (though you will most likely not doing this, practically no one posting in that style ever has).
I was in the hospital one night. Checked in at 5:45am the day of surgery. It lasted @ 7 hours. I was feeling good the next day.Physical therapy walked with me & I had relatively little pain. After Dr. LoMonaco checked me out, I was discharged @ 3pm. Pain levels are very individual but mine really never went above a 4.5/5 and I have walked 3 times per day for 15 minutes with little discomfort since leaving the hospital. I wanted to have an inner thigh lift at the same time but Dr. said it would be too much so I may do that later. Good luck!
Yes! It's used by hospital support personnel much too often. I feel it's a form of degrading, bullying by people who have no understanding or compassion over patients physical struggles. Instead they hold judgement over those patients and have a word they can use without the possibility of being accused of bullying because it's an accepted term.
