Well 3x in hope this one works

I got my date for February 1st. I've been quiet about it as this is the 3rd try to get the gastric sleeve, but I'm feeling good. 2 more days! Actually 1 1/2! I am very excited. Looking forward very much to the new me. This process has been going since 7/2021. During that time I changed my way of eating to what my after surgery foods would be. I've lost 50 lbs. I still need 125+ more to go. But I'm more than ready. Wishing all who come after me well. Sent from my SM-S901U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Constipation

I left the hospital having to dissolve those nasty little Docusate Sodium (Colace) capsules in warm water. Couldn't do it.... the taste was horrible. Called the doc for an alternative and they told me Milk of Magnesia. Phillips makes a Cherry flavor MOM. It's like MAGIC. I drink a cap full of that - and within maybe 2 hours it has served its purpose. Can't go wrong.

    Why so many sleeves

Hi everyone!! I am so curious I am dying for bypass info videos chats all the things, but it seems like so many sleeves. Why is that? I think Bypass is my best option and I just got my surgery date for 2/20. I do worry I have regrets about sleeve vs bypass. Can anyone tell me why you chose it and how it went? What was your weight loss like? n All I see is sleeve!

    Why so many sleeves

I was self-pay so I went with the Sleeve because it was cheaper and came with a lower complication risk. Being self-pay, any issues that arise due to the surgery also aren't covered under insurance so I wanted to make sure to go with the option that carried the lowest complication rate. In my experience it seems that bypass is the more dominant option for those that are severely overweight (think BMI 60+) and want the best chance at being able to lose most/all of their excess weight and maintain the loss.

    Chewable Vitamin Recommendations

Actually I have read about some people who do take the Flintstones ones. If they work can’t see a problem. Some find the creators unpalatable so maybe have a look around & see what vitamins you can find in a patch or an oral spray formula. I started using an oral spray Vit D+K in winter last year. It was so easy - single squirt under the tongue. It lasted for ages (about 6 months) so more economical than tablets & my levels did rise so it worked. I’ve seen Vitamin B & C oral sprays.

    Body contouring recovery time

I had my surgery (tummy tuck w/muscle repair, breast lift & augmentation and arm lift) all done in one surgery. I took three weeks off work and I work as a nurse. I still had some minor discomfort when I went back, but nothing that Tylenol didn’t help with. I was on light duty though-no heavy lifting for 6 weeks due to the arm lift.

    January 2023 Surgery Buddies!

I go back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off. I had my post-op today. I'm down 18 lbs from the day of surgery. I'm feeling great and getting my 60+ g of protein in and tons of water. I do 2oz of soft foods every 2 hours. Today my BP was 114/70 and I haven't been on BP meds since 2 days before surgery. I sort of feel like that's a huge NSV already!

I also hate the word "obese". High cringe factor for whatever reason.
