    Revision

As @catwoman7 says, people who have a revision on this site seem to have lost weight. You have done well so far and are probably in a stall. Ride it out. Stay off the scales as much as possible. Your weight is on the lower scale so it will be slow going from here but you should get lower. People who have a virgin surgery can get to a lower weight but not all. It must be heaven to get rid of the GERD

I am enjoying the different way strangers treat me now. On a recent crowded, train journey, I was invited to sit by people and was smiled at. Its great to feel normal.

I had RnY gastric bypass on October 18, 2022. I was told that straws were allowed, as long as they didn't cause gas. So, I've been using straws since the day I came home. If you get the bariatric vitamins, then you'll only need to supplement some calcium. You can buy them separately, but if you do that then you're going to be taking a handful of pills, multiple times a day. And it's really not anymore expensive to just buy the bariatric ones. I got the chewables. The soups you can use are going to depend on your stage. If you're on clear liquids, then you won't be able to have cream soups. Once you're on full liquids, then you can have cream soups - you'll just need to strain them. I was allowed to shower the day after getting home - so on my second day post op. I packed an extra long phone charger (didn't need it), a heating pad (didn't need it), an abdominal binder (I didn't use it in the hospital, but I did use it for a couple of days after I got home), an old pair of slippers that I planned to just throw away (I did use them when walking the halls in the hospital) and a robe (I did use it when walking the halls in the hospital). Other than that, I just wore home the same clothes that I wore to the hospital. I knew that I was only going to be staying one night, so I didn't bring any toiletries. I did not have a drain placed, thanks be to God. I've heard those are unpleasant to have removed.

    Is it true (or common)?

I was a slow loser, so absolutely not true for me. These things are just guides, they're not absolutes.

Insurance Approved me in 1 Day

Wow! i formally started this process on December 27th, doctor submitted my info and psych eval to insurance on January 4th, and my insurance approved me January 5th. I definitely thought i would have more time to prepare but now my surgery is January 30th and I have a lot to prepare for before then. They wanted to do it on the 16th but that seemed too soon! I did research prior to my appointments but I didn’t expect it to move this quickly! Wish me luck!

I got my bypass done through Wisconsin Medicaid, and it took about 2 months for final approvement. I had the same fears as you. If all your Drs are onboard, and you've jumped through all the hoops, just keep a positive attitude! You won't be refused unless a Dr found the necessity questionable, and you would know that already. Keep your chin up, attitude positive, and with all of us rooting for you, you got this girl!!!

    Hello I had mine October 3rd 2022

Nearly 1mth update. Still eating correct foods and feeling better every day. Sept 11th I weighed in at 229. Today I weigh 217. I sure dont miss the bigger me. Most folks looked at me before and thought, " He could move a refrigerator!". Now they look and wonder if I hurt myself opening the door to one. lol. I get asked about any flab from fast weight loss since i was so close to 300lbs. Well I walk alot and do daily stretches. I am actually more tone than i have ever been. I was concerned with it myself at first but the dr assured me skin can still recover with elasticity. But you have to do the work. I'd gladly help anyone with the prediet I did before the surgery . I managed to lose before I even under went the knife. I have the info scanned and will share with anyone.
