I weigh myself on the 4th of every month along with measurements. Little late on posting i forgot. But yea no big changes at all in the last month. Weight loss has slowed down by a lot which is expected this far out. I had surgery in April of 2022. Struggling to get below 200. I leave on Sunday for the Caribbean which sucks because well the big food down there is everything is fried lol. So i am bringing me a load of "snacks and foods" in my suitcase lol.

    30 days ago today

Congrads on your success so far. I think I was down only about 18 pounds on day 30. For some reason I have not had a stall yet (knock on wood). I am now coming up on my 11th week and my tastebuds are constantly changing. For example, when I first went on solid foods, I was loving my cheesy-scrambled eggs. Also some chicken in sauce, but now don't care for either. To be honest, I am not a "kitchen guy", don't care to prep, cook, or cleanup. So for now, right or wrong, I sticking to yogurt, cottage cheese, protein drinks, ready made low cal soups, and microwavable low cal dinners from "Atkins" & "Realgood". Still can't eat any read meat but tolerate pork. Feels like more of a mental thing than an actual stomach issue. Hopefully later in the year I will try different food plus looking at getting back on the grill this summer. Saltwater fishing is a hobby and I am not one of those "catch & release" anglers, more like "catch & grill". 😁 But my first dinner on solid food also happen to be a birthday dinner for a relative at Outback restaurant where I ordered Wood-fire grilled chicken breast topped with sautéed mushrooms, crisp bacon, melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar and honey mustard sauce. I ate half and was very, very happy.

    Thoughts

My surgeon is pushing it too! I don’t know if it’s a result of new research, or research they want to publish, or they want their stats on weight loss to look better. I’m still loosing very slowly and am happy with that (18 months out). So, I’m researching the side affects, and searching my odds. The minute you go off the meds the weight comes back. What’s your end game? It might be the right medication for you. Do you have a stable income and insurance that would support the medication for the rest of your life? Are you diabetic or COPD or something that loosing more weight would help you control? There’s a lot to consider. It’s a personal health decision each person would need to make for themselves.

Thanks everyone. Guess I should just take it as it comes and listen to my surgeon. My employer is flexible. I'm just trying to plan things.

    Which surgery.

This question is asked and answered so many times on this and other WLS forums. The upshot is that there is no "one size fits all" answer. There are pluses and minuses to each surgery, and the answer will depend on your context and priorities. Do a search. You will find literally hundreds of responses to this question. Good luck!

    Stalls

Stalls are demons that play with your mind. So very annoying too. You will eventually get very used to them. You will say to yourself ' I have not lost for two weeks and am only eating 600 cals a day, I must be over eating' In the last year I think I had 4. Which were 2 x 2 weeks and 1 x 3 weeks and 1 x 9 weeks. Its just your body having a rest and reset. The first one usually comes in at 2-4 weeks after surgery. Someone said there are 17 thousand posts about this stall on this site alone.

I'm a guy and one of those "My 600 pound life" people, though they are lightweights to me. I lost in surplus of 500 pounds. I was told that I should not do plastic surgery until I was at a stable weight, which I did. I had a abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). The skin taken off weighed about 15 pounds. My parents bought balloons declaring "it's a boy." Boy did I get some interesting looks. My plan was to have a second surgery on thighs but issues revealed during the abdominoplasty made additional elective surgeries ill advised. Good luck, Tek

    FINALLY had my scope done

Thank you I was supposed to be able to eat normally today, but my throat really hurts and my chest where they dilated my esophagus (3cm) also hurts if I try to eat even soft foods, like eggs or mashed potatoes. So I was told by the nurse at the surgical center (she just did a follow up call) to go back to my post surgery bariatric diet of protein shakes and water for today and tomorrow (yesterday I did it, too), and then try soft foods again. Ugh. Super annoying. And everyone is hinting at the tumor likely being cancerous, but nobody wants to come out and say it. I guess we'll see. But to have polyps covering my stomach pouch, keloids all along my surgical incision (on my actual stomach where they attached everything again after removing most of the stomach) and having the gastric tumor all in 8 1/2 months has really got everyone super confused. I just want answers so whatever it is can be fixed and I can move on.
