    Food Before and After Photos

It’s for tonight. I had leftover veal last night. Another freezer leftover meal. 😁 I’ll get three meals from the two pieces.

Favorite Foods? Lets make a list.

Apples. I'm obsessed with them and having a hard time accepting that Rockit apple season is a couple of months away yet. I like Envy and Bravo varieties too, but the little sweet crisp Rockit variety are the ones I buy by the huge bagful when they're available. Otherwise it's other easy-grab fruit like seedless black grapes, lychees and cherries. I also love rice crackers, including the "crispbread" ones, which I love with Nuttelex and Vegemite. We have a local Chinese bakery that does the best red bean sesame balls and red bean mochi balls, which both my partner and I LOVE. Those are treats to have with a nice soy latte or mug of tea.

So Why Don't We Talk About It?

I am amazed that the psych assessment was that short. Mine was 300 questions plus an intense interview with psychologist. Then getting the results took a long time so long that i thought i failed.

    HAPPY new year!

Ohhhh maintenance calories! I haven't even thought about that. That's gonna be interesting to explore once I'm further out. And wow! Its incredible that you've gone from the 400's down to the 200's. What amazing accomplishments you've done. Well done. & I love that you're taking more photos now!

You guys! I just realized a NSV that I have to share!!! This is something that I've been wanting to achieve - forever (not forever, but for a little over 7 years)... The keyboard tray on my desk is at the same height as the arms of my chair. For as long as I've had this chair/desk combo (a little over 7 years), my tummy has stuck out farther than the arms of my chair. I could squish my keyboard tray in and touch the arms of my chair, but my tummy would be touching the tray. Today - I noticed that my tummy isn't touching the keyboard tray, but the tray is up against the arms of my chair!!!! There's only about 1/4-inch of space, but it's there!

    Question About BMI

I agree with those who recommend you find another PCP. I would be concerned about this doctor's fixation on your BMI. First of all, as a bariatric patient, you might not need to have a BMI within the "normal" range. I saw a video on YouTube a while back (someone linked to it on this forum) by a bariatric surgeon talking about the best weight for bariatric patients and he suggested that a "normal" BMI may actually be too low. So the first problem with this doctor is that his advice for you to lose weight might not even be correct. The other thing that bothers me here is that I have a dear friend who went to her PCP complaining of malaise, and the doctor dismissed her symptoms and told her she would probably feel better if she dropped 10 pounds (and this is someone I have always envied because she has always been in great shape;). Turns out she had cancer. I would be wary about a doctor who jumps straight to losing weight as the cure for everything. Something I appreciate about my PCP is that she never commented on my weight. She suggested I change my diet and be more active to lower my blood pressure and blood glucose, which are obviously associated with weight loss, but she recommended actual actions and not just, "lose weight." Likewise, she didn't praise me for losing weight, only for improving my health. I wish more doctors would take that approach instead of just using BMI as an all-purpose measure of health.

    Question About BMI

Does he have your records. He must not have reviewed them too closely if he didn’t know that you had a major surgery and that your weight is way down. Honestly I wouldn’t care much about his opinion of my weight but I may take that as a hint that he isn’t paying enough attention to your history.

    Sleeve to Bypass for Reflux

I had it done 3+ yrs ago and no more GERD. Recovery was also easier since I knew what to expect.

6 months post sleeve and some awesome NSVs ~ Started at a size 28/4X, just the other day I bought a pair of 18 pants on clearance ($5) and just for fun I tried them on.....and they FIT!!!!! ~I noticed that there is space between my toes...... ~ I can sit in a booth at restaurants ~ I can keep up with my preschool class, 12 boys, and 4 girls......busy, busy, busy ~ I can walk without getting winded or my back hurting. ~ I realized that this year I will be able to shop for a bathing suit at a regular store, and not have to buy one at Lane Bryant or online!! ~ My wedding rings that I hadn't worn for 4 years, I put on in August (1 month out) now they are in danger of falling off, so I will have to find a safe place ~ I promised that when I lost 100 lbs, I would get a cat! Her name is Peaches and I got her at a rescue a couple weeks ago.
