    Tea recommendation

Just want to recommend a lovely tea brand .. Tazo teas are lovey! It has great quality, simple ingredient tea bags that brew up well. i sometimes put monkfruit sweetener in it to enhance the flavor. My favorite is wild sweet orange. It smells and tastes heavenly. the glazed lemon loaf is pretty good and tastes naughty but i believe is no calories brewed - just a tasty way to hydrate.

    Am I overreacting

wow - those are only like 20 calories a piece. I don't know what to tell you since fortunately I didn't have to deal with any "food police" when I was a new post-op. Just smile and nod and try to ignore her, I guess. You've already pointed out the carbs and calories to her, so there's not much more you can do using a rational approach. How long is she there for?

    October 2022 surgery support

My stall hit at around 2.5 weeks and lasted around 12 days. Then boom 10 pounds gone over a week. I've slowed again now and understand it's just going to be a process. I'm not getting frustrated since I know I'm losing lots of inches, my clothes are all baggy and people have started noticing in my face especially. It's just going to take time and sticking to the new way of eating. My doctor has me on about 600-700 calories for now. 80g protein, 50g carbs (usually don't come close on carbs), and 50g fat along with my 64 oz fluid each day. I'm still working on getting in everything I need to in a day.

    Am I overreacting

I understand and again, it's so difficult and trying as it is, let alone with the added stress so I don't think you are overreacting at all. I have issues with some of my family too, and often disappointed in their responses. Being disappointed in your mother's responses but not letting it affect your plan is inspiring. Keep the good work.

Show her the label so she can see for herself they are sugar free and low calories/carb. Congrats on your surgery. Good to see you are following your plan despite the additional stress. From what I know, popsicles are a great way to get hydrated. Whatever works. They offered them to me at the hospital (also offered coffee lol but that's for another thread).

    Gas problems and binder.

It often takes a good week for the gas to escape. But burping & farting won’t help because the gas is actually in your abdominal cavity not in your digestive system. The pain occurs because it rises & settles under your lungs causing nerve pressure (the shoulder pain). It escapes by attaching itself to water molecules in your lungs & you breathe it out. So gentle activity like short walks (around your home, garden, street) as you’re able, marching on the spot, carefully lifting your arms up & down ( don’t pull your tummy) & slow, deep breathing. A heat pad can also help ease the discomfort too. Yeah binders are a some do some don’t. If you find a binder supportive & more comfortable, use it.

    I’m HUNGRY!

Hey everyone! I was sleeved in September, so I’m almost to the three month mark. My appetite is returning & it seems to be back with a VENGEANCE! Of course I’m unable to eat passed half a plate (maybe even pass a quarter of a plate lol), but I seem to be hungry more & more throughout the day. Has this happened or is happening to any of you? If so, how are you satisfying these little bursts of hunger?

    hiatal hernia

Mine was discovered during the routine pre-op tests. I knew something was there because I had acid reflux and other hernias before. They were surprised the hernia was all the way up to my larynx. I think the recovery took longer because of the repair, the surgery was 7 hours due to it with the RNY. No regrets now that I can lie down flat to sleep, and sing again!
