you're seven months out now - from about this point and for the rest of your life, you're going to occasionally have days like this. It was a holiday - even skinny people tend to eat more than usual or have special treats on such days. The trick is to get right back to it the next day and don't let it continue on. Sounds like you have a good plan.

    My VSG

Hi everyone my name is lizzy, just had my VSG about 6 months ago so far I’ve lost 90 pounds and I’m feeling great!!!! My only struggle is taking down these vitamins I’ve tried it multiple different time and it all seems to make me nauseous still , from pill capsules to chewables… idk what else do I force my self to take it but I just hate the nausea part. My hair did fall out so I had to cut it short which helped and now it doesn’t fall as much , since my hair was long I felt the heaviness of it and now I just feel light weight all around lol . I do have a question though… why is that I feel cold all the sudden ? It’s winter time now in Las Vegas and my body cannot stand this cold I’m always cold and achy from it …. Any ideas pls thank you!!!!

IKWYM! I put on a size 16 not expecting to get them past my thighs let alone button them, but my 22's were getting dangerously loose, luckily baggy is in. Not only did they get past my thighs but I was able to button them without laying down or sucking in. I was in tears. I mean you know you'll get results but going from 26-28 to 16 in 6 months just puts me in awe. My youngest(12F) told me today she saw an old picture of me and didn't realize until that moment just how much weight I had lost.

    Pre-surgery diet

It's like getting tortured isn't it. Just struggle through. By day four you will have it easier. Everyone is set a different diet so we can't really advise you on what you could eat. Sugar free ice pops should be fine though. The reason they do the diet is to - 1. Make us realise how much and how badly we ate. It helps break the sugar and junk food cycle. 2. To shrink our livers so the surgery is safe. A fatty liver is very fragile, they have to move it to get at the surgery site. A few people have had the surgery begin and woke to find the surgeon said, 'sorry can't do this today' They were heartbroken. Stick with it, it's worth it in the end. We are all living proof its possible. Mine was 3 long torturous weeks and I was so sick of it that I almost ran to the operating theatre shouting ' let's get this done'

    Liquid diet

I am on day 8 of 14 on the liquid diet and yes it sucks!! I got the point that i cannot stomach the sweet protein shakes. I had my seminar today at the weight loss center, they suggested i get Isopure unflavored protein. I ran out and got it right after the seminar, I am going to survive this, whew that was close, just thought of the sweetness made me sick. I had some of the unflavored protein in unsweet tea and it was great!!

I've only lost 30 lbs and I haven't had surgery yet, but I just noticed this yesterday. My shoelaces came untied and I didn't have to sit down to tie them; I just bent over and I didn't want to vomit!

Here are just a couple of the silly things that have made me smile the last couple weeks: 1. I can buy cute underwear that are not made out of white flour sack material. 2. I can put on my socks in the morning with out making strange sounds and grunting. 3. When getting dressed to go somewhere the first thing out of my mouth is NOT "does this make me look fat!"

I haven't had surgery yet, but I've seen the surgeon, the nutrionists, and had some of the insurance required tests already. I still have a few things to do, but the surgeon said he thinks I should be able to have it in November. So wouldn't you know that the moment I commented on one of the posts here about unsupportive boyfriend MY husband decides that he does not want me to have surgery. First he said he is worried something will happen to me, then he says I can do it by exercise and diet, and then today he said that he met me heavy and he wants me to be like how I was when we first met. Honestly I think he is worried that if I get thin that I will leave him, which I would not leave him but he told me that he will not support me on my decision to have it. He said we will get a divorce. He had already told me that he would not take to me or pick me up from the hospital and that he wouldn't take care of me at home, and I needed to call my sister to come and do it all. It is very odd because we have been together 12 or 13 years, married for ten of those years and he has never been that way with me. He says he loves me but he sure isn't acting like it. I think in the end he will go along with it but for now he has really upset me. His parents said they would help me when it comes time for my surgery. Each time I drink a shake he asks me why I'm still doing that diet. I just tell him it's because it's easier than eating at the moment. I guess I should mention that I've already lost some weight and now he is heavier than me.....not by much but he knows I'm going to keep losing and he is struggling to lose it, but he has started to the gym and hopefully he can lose it and won't feel so insecure. I really do think he will change when it comes to surgery time, but for now I'm just dealing with him nagging me about the diet and exercise. I'm all about exercise, but I'm healing from some tendon surgery so I have to wait until after my physical therapy for my whole body. Has anybody else had a spouse that didn't want to support their surgery in the beginning but changed their mind later?
