    I am no veteran but when I find myself in group settings with lots of food I just go for the protein first and maybe a bite or 2 of something else. I try to eye ball a few ounces of the proteins and just stop eating when I get the slightest bit of full. (I am pretty good at eyeballing, I eyeball then weigh at home to keep myself tested. lol) So far this process has worked for me. Good luck, you can do it.

    How to handle vacation?

    I just got back from a 5 day "mini-vacation" and the one thing I can say is that I way, way over prepared. I was so worried about having food I could eat that I put together multiple bento boxes (one per day), that I never touched. I also had protein bars, protein drinks, protein snacks, etc. I hardly touched any of that either. Mostly I just ate what everyone else was eating, just a lot less. I think in the end it was good for me to learn to eat "in the real world". The one thing I did struggle with was getting my liquids in. We were pretty active most of the time and I kept falling behind on my fluid intake. In retrospect, I think I actually should have focused a lot more on how to get my fluids in, and a lot less on the food part.

    Wow, Kim you will be under 300 in no time. Thank you for the update. Although you went through a lot, your daily journaling can aid others who may experience something similar, and learn from your experience and positive mindset.

    Head Hunger vs Actual Hunger

    There is someone in my weekly support group that mentioned he is -never- hungry but has cravings. I asked him how that feels & he mentioned that to him cravings are always mental & are are two completely different sensations to him. I wish I could explain it the way he did, but to him it's like 2 different emotions. In the same way how one day you're happy & sometimes you're excited. Similar sensations but with their differences. Drilling that into my thoughts has helped me recognize the difference!

    Comments on your body

    I'm thankfully pretty shielded from this most of the time, since I'm self-employed and work from home. I imagine if you work in an office or on-site, then the comments would happen. I had my first a week or so ago, when visiting a friend and she quietly said I looked skinny and asked if I was well. She hasn't seen me in a while, so I guess there is a noticeable weight drop and I KNOW my collar bones and neck sinews stick out prominently now. It still triggered a weird body dysmorphic patch in me, and thankfully my partner put my mind at ease. In her defense, she was coming from a place of care, and she has suffered from restrictive eating disorders in the past so I know she was just seeing my jutting bones and making unconscious connections to her own past. My real test will be Xmas and going interstate to see the family and in-laws for the first time in about half a year. I am a good size and a half smaller since they last saw me. All that said, anyone calling out to a stranger OR an acquaintance with the word "fat" needs a kick between the legs. Inexcusably rude, fundamentally unfunny.

    Love these updates! The first place I’m getting plastics done will be face/neck. Never realized how “old” losing >100 pounds would make me look. Then maybe— maybe this time next year I’ll think about other parts of my bod (I’m looking at you, thighs)
