November 2022 surgery support!

Just got my surgery date this morning. I am scheduled for November 16th! Anybody else close to this date? I’m both nervous and excited. Looking for support and people I can talk to that understand how I feel, as they are going through the same thing! Thanks -

I have been reluctant to buy anything pre surgery, but i plan on stocking up for next winter and buying the better quality warmer things. I do have a comfy which is a giant blanket hoodie that is nice. -

So many people think WLS will just fix everything, but as you said, you "did the very hard mental work. I broke addictions to fast food and the sugar." I think your success will be so much better because you have done that work and you know what you are accountable for. I am so excited that you get to start your journey!

1 pointI was one of those that had taste changes post surgery. Almost all the shakes were sickingly sweet tasting. My suggestion to avoid this is to shop at convenience stores and buy singles to try a bunch of diffferent shakes. Easy to find your favorite without committing to a whole case of anything. Walmart has some four packs but a lot of places you have to buy a case.

I hate that insurance companies have a say in what healthcare people are allowed to have! Im sorry you are having to deal with this. But keep fighting. Im sure that they hope you just give up and quit. -

1 pointIf you ever want to test this firsthand as a female just walk around a store for a while at your goal weight. Especially one with a majority of male workers like a home improvement store. it’s crazy how much more help you get. Like they go out of their way to offer help. It’s kinda crazy.
