    Awful doctor experience

    I seriously couldn’t have said it better than sleevemealone. Or even as good. I’m am glad you have other options and are willing to take the next step towards finding YOUR new surgeon. This is your journey and you deserve a team you trust and respect at the very least, hopefully they will be so much more.

    Back to work after one week??

    Did anyone go back to work after one week of surgery? Office desk job. How was it with sitting? Was it hard to stay on track with sips and walking? Did you have belching or Nausea?

    November Surgery!!!!

    So excited[emoji16] about finally getting my surgery date today!! I'm scheduled to have the Gastric Sleeve Surgery on 11/28/22 .     Now that I understand your time frame that is a bit odd. I am on week four of the sleeve, but I average about 600 calories a day, some days I get up to 800, but it is rare. I am losing slower now but I have lost every week, except second, I gained a few, then took it off and more. Make sure to track all of your food if you aren't already and show the doctors you are working with. I have heard of some others that have struggled as well.

    Perfectly natural side effect which most of us experience. Your natural hair loss cycle has been accelerated so the hair you’re losing you were going to lose anyway. It’s just happening more quickly than it usually does. The stress of reduced calories, the surgery & restricted diet, the hormonal flush & changes all contribute to the acceleration. Remember your body has more important things to use the food & nourishment you’re consuming for than protecting your hair at the moment. It usually only lasts about 3 months +/-. Don’t worry, your new hair is still regrowing but at its usual rate. Any vitamins, supplements you take to try to stop your hair falling may only benefit your new growth. The hair on your head is actually dead. Can’t save that. I know it can be frustrating & upsetting but the best thing you can do is just let it do what it’s doing. You don’t need the added stress of worrying about it. Some temporary hair loss is really unimportant compared to the weight loss & improvements to your health & welll being. PS - Many of us cut our hair if it was long so it doesn’t look as noticeable & it takes less time for the new growth to catch up & be the same length. You can always grow it again if you want.

    How much can you eat?

    Everyone who does this surgery will have a different story, I have found nobody is the same. We all have different regimes and surgeons' recommendations. So, everyone progresses at different rates. It is a mistake to compare yourself to anyone else. Well, I could eat for England as we say! Especially Chinese foods, I loved rice and noodles. Now I am just starting to eat a bit more, but I don't have a lot of hunger and quickly get full, so I have 5 small meals a day and 20 ounces of milk or milk shake a day. That puts my daily calories around 900 - 1200 My breakfast today was almost 4 ounces of protein yogurt and a milky coffee. Lunch was a peeled apple and a 1 ounce of French Brie cheese. I have just had a strawberry milk shake. My evening meal is 2 ounces of homemade pork sate with 1Tbsp of brown rice. The rice is just for show as I can't manage more than 2 tiny bites after the protein. Later I will have an almost sugar free ice lolly [44 Cals] and my milk allowance. If I am short on protein for the day, I will finish the day on 4 ounce of protein yogurt. I usually fit a bit of veg into my day, even if its only in a mug of soup, but not today I am used to seeing my tiny meals, but family and friends are shocked at how little I eat and don't see how big that their portions are.

    Back to work after one week??

    I don't think I could have done it. I'm a little over 2 weeks out and I went back to work part time the last 2 days. I found it very taxing. It partly how tired I feel, but maybe even more so that I'm mentally drained. I work from home, but have a mentally challenging job, so I have to have a clear head. Now that I'm actually starting real food, it's getting better every day. The other challenge early on was just how much of my energy and thought went in to keeping up with my liquid and protein intake. I'm afraid that if I was trying to work as well, I likely would have ended up dehydrated or worse.

    November Surgery!!!!

    I'm looking forward to getting off this ghrelin/leptin hunger rollercoaster. I'm looking forward to getting off some of my prescriptions. I'm looking forward to having a better relationship with food. I'm looking forward to not being hot all the time. But the biggest thing - the #1 thing - I'm looking forward to is having more energy. There are things I want to do and I need energy to be able to do them. I want to be able to say, "Yes!" when my friend invites me to go on a hike with her. The fact that I will look better in clothes, is just icing on the cake.
