    Yes! There are so many things I have not been able to do with my weight, I am looking forward to be under weight limits for things!

    Bad to bypass

    Sooooo I had the band placed in 2008, did pretty will with it, (so I thought) lost about 50 pounds and held in the 180’s. However, it turns out I really didn’t do well with the band. Almost everything made me vomit. The vomiting continued until I had a hiatal hernia. Band was loosened, the weight came back. They retighten the band, and weight hasn’t budged. I’m about 10 pounds lighter than I was when I had the band placed. Not only am I embarrassed by my weight. I’m embarrassed for people to know I have the band, and it failed, and I am going to try this for a second time. I had an app with a surgeon this week. I’m going to get my band out, and be revised to bypass. This will hopefully help with the vomiting and get the weight off once and for all. He said based on the length of time I have had the band, he wants to do this in 2 steps. Band and scar tissue out and then bypass 1-2 months after. I’m terrified something will happen, the band will come out and then I can’t get the revision.

    My birthday is next month and coincides with my projected second week of pureed, as a reward for staying on plan I'm gonna buy a new phone lmao. A local tandem skydiving place had a 160lb weight limit for my height, so naturally I decided when I hit that, I'm jumping out a plane.

    Stretching Exercises

    I agree, talk to your doctor. Most doctors want you to avoid any form of exercise other than walking for at least a couple of weeks and some even longer. Also, I would not call most of your examples "stretching exercises". At the very least, they'd fall under what we used to call calisthenics in the old days, but more properly fall squarely into the bodyweight strength training realm. Your toe-touch example is the only one that might be considered a stretch, but it's highly dependent on how you're doing it.

    When I started trying to make better choices, a lot of times I'd type the name of the restaurant + either "keto" or "eat this not that" into Google and use that as my starting point

    First of all, take a deep breath. Allowing yourself to fall into an anxiety spiral is NOT helpful to your healing and recovery. Next, TRUST YOUR TEAM. They are there for a reason, they are the experts. They have the knowledge and experience and education. I promise you, they have FAR better advice for you than a random bunch of strangers on the internet. Follow their guidelines - if they say 1 minute per 15, then that is what they want you to do. If you feel good and want to do 2 minutes, sure that's fine! But worrying yourself into walking for hours on end is not helpful or healthy. And yes, you need to be mindful of your hydration. Sit down, drink some water with electrolytes, and call your team if you have any concerns.

    3 years post VSG to RNY

    Hi! I had a revision of my sleeve (VSG) to RNY on 8/29/22 for a hiatal hernia repair and severe acid reflux. Since then I feel like I’m doing okay and no longer have any acid reflux symptoms. My only concern is every time I drink something cold to room temperature my stomach hurts really bad. I can sip on warm bone broth and that doesn’t seem to bother me much. I know I’m just out of surgery and healing but should I still be feeling pain in my stomach almost two weeks out? Any insight as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated! 😊

    Hi everyone! I've been a silent reader of these forums and have found a lot of answers and inspiration in here that helped me a lot along my weight loss journey. This is my first post and just wanted to first thank you for sharing your experiences and stories and to share mine as well. Hopefully this will inspire someone to take the decision. I had my surgery on 30 January 2022 and I'm glad I did. I'm going to be 40 in September and I've always been overweight. I've tried several diets, lost and gained a lot of weight. The last diet I've tried was Keto diet back in 2019. I was able to lose 25 Kg. Then Covid-19 came, the lockdowns and having to work from home. I gained all the weight back and some more 😥. Fast forward to January 2022. My sister (who is also overweight) was in Egypt on a business trip. She met one of her classmates in there who lost almost half of her weight and looked unrecognizable. My sister's friend recommended that she consult the same surgeon that did her mini gastric bypass surgery. After visiting that surgeon, my sister decided to have the surgery by mid January 2022. We talked about it and I discussed with the surgeon over Skype and made the arrangements to have mine by end of January 22. I had my surgery on 30 January 22 and stayed in the hospital for two days. I then flew back to Malaysia a week after. My starting weight was 149 Kg and my current is 103 Kg. I'm super happy with my decision and consider that to be my 40th birthday gift to myself. I feel and look amazing and I'm able to do a lot of the things that I've always wanted to do but couldn't because of my weight. I even got myself a mountain bike that I ride every night around my house. I hope I will be down to two-digits weight just in time for my 40th birthday! I'm planning to join a gym next month which will hopefully help with loose skin and speed up the weight loss. I've started a list of all of the things that I've always wanted to do but couldn't and I'm really excited to tick as items much as I can.

    I weigh myself in the exact same clothes I did for my first appointment. Now, they are too big so I stand on the scale naked and hold them. LOL
