I'm just amused at how my own perception of the space I take up hasn't caught up with how much slimmer I am. I still inwardly flinch at the sight of close-packed tables and chairs at a cafe or restaurant before I realise I can slip through no problem now! I still get out of people's way when there's plenty of room and I no longer need to - it's still a reflex. My brain is so used to being spatially aware for a morbidly obese body that it's taking a surprising amount of time for it to catch up to a much smaller me. I'm constantly amazed I can slip between cafe chairs and tables now without a) other folks doing the shuffle so I can fit past, or b) risking my arse moving inches from someone's face as I knock tables on the way through with a chorus of "sorry!"s. What are some things that have snuck up on you that your mind hasn't caught up with yet?

    Weight loss pre-op

it might have to do with the insurance company requirements as far as how often they report thru the process. Might not have anything to do with the team itself. Who knows, insurance companies will get you any way they can.

    Iced Coffee

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I am one month out tomorrow and I miss my coffee. I am trying with the decaf but I think I will be going back to caffeinated coffee. Tim Horton is my coffee crack!!!

Once I finished my last test, and got my results, my paperwork was sent to my insurance. Approval took about a week or so and THEN I got the call to schedule. No point in scheduling if insurance said no they said. Not that I was worried, I also had a strong belief my insurance would cover it. I am having a revision so the first surgery was scheduled for maybe 4 weeks (a month) after that. I’m an educator like your husband and also had to consider my schedule. I think once everything is in order it will go quickly for you, especially if the team you are going to has several surgeons to choose from.

Olive oil dispense and measure bottle

I have thought of getting one too. I use Pam (or equivalent) for everything. I was thinking that I could get the weight before and then after so I can log the grams of oil used. Like you, I log everything but especially any product with oil. Oil is super calorie dense. Healthy or not, it can seriously change my calorie deficit. Stop loosing WAY too early

Oh man, I'm so jealous of your progress!!! I lost 30 pounds in the first 2 weeks. Then I hit a 2 week stall and have lost much slower after that. In the last 5 weeks, I've lost 13 pounds. I lost weight faster when I did keto, so this has been frustrating. But congrats on your numbers!!!!

RNY to Sleeve or revision of RNY

yes - you can reverse an RNY. However, they usually only do it for serious medical issues that can't be resolved any other way. I'm not sure why you'd want to go from RNY to sleeve, though, since RNY is a stronger surgery. Unless you don't really want to lose more weight (you said you've put on 60 lbs) and are more concerned about getting stomach acid back (not sure why you'd want this - plus GERD is a potential risk of sleeve). I've heard of people having RNY revised to DS, when they reverse the RNY, create a sleeve, and then do the intestinal bypass part of the DS - but very few surgeons are qualified to do this. I would probably consider some of those surgeons, though, since they'd have the most experience (even if you just want the sleeve part).
