    Day 4 ESG Post Op

Hey everyone- im on day 4 post op. Everything went well, and had minor gas pains. No heart burn but my doctor has me on omeprazole twice a day for a month I’m also taking sucralfate 4 times per day. Anyone else taking this? If so, for how long? The next 17 days of full liquids will be difficult. Not getting them in. I have no problem drinking 64 oz plus some protein shakes. But I feel pretty hungry. My doctor said it may diminish, did anyone else experience this?

    Buyer remorse and emotional

What you are experiencing is very common. You’ve been going through a lot. The surgery, the change in your diet, pain & discomfort. So much new information & things to learn. Perfectly understandable that you’re questioning if it will be worth it. Plus your hormones are all over the place making you more emotional. It just takes time. Time to heal & recover. Time for your hormones to settle. Time to become familiar & more confident about the changes to your eating, etc. Take as much time as you need. One day you’ll realise you are feeling a lot better, stronger & confident about everything. Your weight will be decreasing. And you’ll realise yes, it was worth it. All the best.

Thank you to everyone for your responses. I love that I can get the opinion of others that have gone or are going through the same thing as I.

Avoid soda by not buying it anymore... The amount of sugar in them is insane and the carbonation in them wont be your friend after surgery. As for just water... Water is great. But i also have a Gatorade zero almost everyday as well to switch it up. I was addicted to pepsi before surgery. I drank lots. as for sweets. on bariatric pal website they have a store section where they have sweets that are ok in moderation. including chocolate. Its actually pretty good.

Please tell me I haven't failed.

What does deleted through replacement mean? Did the OP just change their screen name?? I don’t get it.

    My First Binge :(

I worry so much about this happening to me too because I eat and I can eat again 30 minutes later. Good news is it was just once so far and you know that you don’t want to continue doing it. Do you have any idea what brought it on? Was it an emotional reaction or just purely boredom?? Maybe you should bring a bunch of healthy snacks so you at least have the better option available. I eat when I am board too and I honestly haven’t found an answer except for lower calorie snacks which isn’t perfect i know.
