    Robotic?

Mine will be laparascopic robotic, as well. It's still laparscopic in that they don't cut you from stem to stern, it's done with cameras through small incisions. But, they use a robot to manipulate the tools.

    Post op VSG

Oh, you have been through the wars. None of this would be directly related to your surgery though except from being run down & recovering from a pretty major surgery. Plus you may have gone back to a demanding job too soon leaving you open to pick up a bug. It may have been a signal to slow down you were doing too much. Then your lowered immune system made you a target for the subsequent infections. A perfect storm. The vomiting after surgery is not uncommon because your tummy is so sensitive but becoming unwell with viruses & infections like you have is uncommon. You’ll slowly rebuild your immune system especially when you’re able to eat a little more & a broader more nutritious range of foods. In the meantime keep your vitamins up. Broken toes are awful. How can such a little part of you be so limiting. I did mine when I accidentally my kicked my vacuum. Half my foot was bruised & swollen for ages. Thank goodness I did it summer so I could still wear slides & sandals. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. Apart from you being unwell, you’re doing well. Take it easy & take time to fully recover.

    My First Binge :(

Yes I have been doing shift work for 20 years now and before surgery if I took more than 4 weeks leave I found once I returned to a normal sleeping pattern I would drop 2 to 3 kgs in the time frame only to have them come back after a couple of weeks back at work. . Thank you yes I am pleased with my progress but really worried by how easily it could all be undone .

    Robotic?

I wasn't given this option. Sounds like if the surgeon is still ultimately in control of the procedure but it minimises the amount of rummaging in your insides that's required then it can only be a good thing. Best of luck for tomorrow OP!

    Robotic?

My surgeon used the Da Vinci robot. He was oddly insistent that he (the surgeon) was performing the surgery, not the robot; I guess some people misunderstand the concept of robotic surgery and picture R2D2 cutting them open. He said he does the surgery both with and without the robot, but he prefers using the robot, and I was in favor of anything that made it easier for him to do the surgery. My understanding is that the advantages of the robot are that it is more dexterous than human hands, and it allows for smaller incisions. My incisions were certainly quite small and healed quickly, and the scars are barely visible now (2 years later).

    Day 3 Post-Op

Pain is subsiding a little more each day. Walking definitely helps. Feeling up to taking a shower today. From surgery on Monday to today I've lost 5 pounds. Promised myself I wouldn't worry about how fast or slow the weight comes off as long as it comes off. So I'll keep strolling along. Sent from my SM-G981V using BariatricPal mobile app

Fun fact: the Porterhouse (not to be confused with a T-bone steak, but essentially similar) that Mr prepared are actually 2 steaks in one, composite steaks that is made up of a Top Loin (aka strip steak) on one side of the centre bone and a Tenderloin/Fillet on the other (the smaller side). I ate my 1oz from the tenderloin/fillet side which was butter soft, OMG. BUT my fave cut is the Ribeye hands down cuz I like my steaks fatty and rich tasting! Once or twice a year Mr will bring home the fancy Tomahawk ribeye from the butcher and grills it to perfection…i’ll take a pic the next time he does…it’s a work of effing art lol.
