    Oh well done you! I cannot imagine how you've achieved that so close to your surgery. I am getting about 7k steps a day reliably 6 months out from mine and thinking that's fab (for me!) Please can I also say that Arabesque has a world of experience to share and is one of my absolute favourite people here because she's soooo generous with that knowledge and experience. I don't read anything patronising in her post - it genuinely comes across as 'by the way - did you know that the 10k steps thing was just an arbitrary target dreamed up by...' Which is completely true. This is not to gang up or to try to ram my opinion down your throat - I think it's just one of the drawbacks to a board like this that it's sometimes hard to judge the tone, as others have said.

    6 weeks post op depressed

    Can anyone give me some encouragement that I will find happiness in life again? I feel so blah at the moment and I can’t find joy anywhere in my life. Has anyone experienced this? I am usually the positive person in the world and my personality has completely changed. Please give me some insight that this will change. I’ve only lost 17 lbs on top of it all.

    The stall has broken! And I didn’t even have to weigh the dog 🤣 changing up my walking helped. Added in trails with some elevation.

    Thank you! I am so appreciative of all the information that I'm getting from my Nutritionist and the weight loss surgery team in general. I do think that the education component is very important - I would say it's as important as the surgery itself. The surgery is a tool. The education is a tool. When both tools are used at the same time, success comes easier, I'm sure.

    My New Sleeve experience (so far)

    Just thought I'd do an update!! My Surgiversary was May 18th - I'm officially 1 year post-op and LOVING IT!! PROs: I can eat literally anything and I love it. Tiny portions were easy to get used to. I wouldn't change a thing. The portion control I used to struggle with is now effortless. It's nuts. Also, I ALWAYS have leftovers and it's pretty awesome. Weight fell off faster than I could keep up. My obsession with tracking calories is optional now. That's been nice. I can RUN up a flight of stairs - or two! It feels great being active. Now I understand why it was so hard to do things when my weight was higher. I can finally function. CONs: The HORRIBLE constipation/gas pains the weeks following my surgery cannot go unmentioned. The pain meds that constipate are a special kind of hell. It was worse than my c-section BY FAR. At week #4, I was getting back to normal. Now that I'm a year post-op, The reflux is still plaguing me. It's MUCH better than the 4 post-op months. I can definitely live like this if this is as good as it gets. I go between taking 20 and 40 mg omeprazole depending on what the food plans are that day. Pretty easy to manage now. Walking by a mirror is still odd. I've changed so much that I'm still surprised. When I buy clothes, I'm still confused by the sizes I'm fitting into. Never in a million years thought I'd lose so much in the 1 year post-op. Buying/fitting bras has been a nightmare, but that's for another post. Glad I did it! I would do it again! I can run and jump like a kid again! It's GREAT!

    Yeah, everyone defines a stall differently. Personally I use at least “1 week of consecutive days of non-weight-nor-inches loss” as a definition. I mean, I could drop a good 2 lbs with a nice poop (i pooped every 3-4 days - sometimes even longer than that - back in weight loss phase, so that made sense) …and yes, I used to weigh myself before and after poops cuz it was fun for me 😂) What some people consider stalls, others call daily fluctuations. But however you define it, just keep on trucking, and aim to keep the anxiety at bay. Remember: stress (i.e., cortisol) has a positive correlation to weight gain (i.e., increased hunger and over-eating) Good Luck! ❤️

    It's quick! I called in October and still needed time to decide. Once I did, I needed it to be in June because I wanted my kids to be done with school before I went. Karissa was my coordinator and she answered all my questions and made my schedule. I'm not sure if they have busier times over others, but It is a matter of a month or two I would guess.
