    Can't Decide!

It’s really just a personal decision if there is not a glaring medical reason to choose one over the other. I am on medications and worried about absorption issues of bypass affecting them so I went with sleeve but I knew that I was possibly going to lose a few less pounds than I would with bypass. I think from my research the difference in weight loss between the two surgeries was only like 5-10% of excess weight which for me ended up being just a few pounds but I was lower BMI to start. If you eat a lot of sweets however the bypass could be even better for loss because you may dump on sugar which will help you stay away from them. But not everyone dumps from sugar so that’s not guaranteed.

    Liver shrinking DIET pre-RNY

You are starting the pre op diet already? Even before your surgery is scheduled possibily for mid June? seems very early especially with your low BMI. For most its 1 week or 2 weeks before surgery date. But of course i am no surgeon lmao. Good luck!! You loose weight pretty fast during the pre op diet. I lost i think 12lb during my two week liquid diet.

It sucks lol. At my house its not really about the cooking but most times everyone orders out. Pizza, Fried chicken, chinese ect... I see it there and i know i cant have any lol. Once i am a little more healed up i will probably just go out riding my jetski during dinner time lol. Get back to the house after sunset.

My experience for myself was the first 3 days were a challenge but after about day four I was doing really good. By the time of my 2nd week I wasnt even hungry and just finished out the week. We'd all like to think it can be easy but its not when first starting out. Hang in there and you should be able to conquer it. I was a big Dt Coke drinker and I had to let that nemesis go. By the 2nd week I had no desire to drink Dt Coke. That made me happy

I will eat real food again right?

I appreciate all of the replies. I know that I will eat food again, my post was more of a day 10 pre op diet mental temper tantrum. It feels so close yet so far away!

Wow, amazing feedback so far everyone. Thank you. I know surgery can never be risk free. I've been under before so I know I won't have issues with that, but it's all the other possible issues. It's nice hearing from all of you, especially knowing you had a lot of the same "high risk factors" as I do. I'm feeling a lot better about proceeding. Part of me still wants to call it off. But I don't want my decision made based upon fear.

Pills are still a problem, although with warm brother they're getting a little easier. The hospital I was at uses both compression socks and compression cuffs. Just depends what the surgeon prefers. I liked the cuffs way better.

Am I being a big baby

You got this! b***h away! There has been a DRASTIC change and trauma to your body. Everyone reacts differently and recovers differently. Do what you need to do but call the doctor about that leg swelling.
