    Weight loss starts when?

yep. Water weight from the IV fluids. I've heard of some people gaining 10 or more lbs from it. It takes a few days for it to work it's way out of your system. In the mean time, if it's stressing you out, then just stay off the scale for a few days.

Hi all! I just joined this a forum a cpl of days ago and so glad I did 😊I'm due for a gastric bypass and hiatus hernia repair on the 27th of April. Im on the 3 shakes a day and 2 cups of low starch vegetables diet atm. Currently 220lbs I've managed to lose 20lbs in 4 months prior to this liquid diet, Im glad I did as I have another 77lbs to go after the surgery, hope it is all worth the wait! I'm reading a lot of good advice and great information which I didn't know before I joined and I'm really enjoying sharing with others's ideas and experiences who are in simular situation as myself. Wishing everyone best of luck 👍🙏😊❤️

I'm the one who posted that I'm still hungry. Most people (but not all!) lose their hunger for a few months after surgery. But it always comes back. However, I am satisfied on MUCH LESS FOOD. And there are medications that have been helpful for me. I am nauseous from my multivitamin, but I haven't thrown up in a long time. I have found that if I eat something with fat in it before I take the multivitamin, I am better I have also lost 113 lbs so far. Is my life miraculously better? No. I'm a smaller person who is more comfortable in my body. I still have pain in my knee and arm. I walk faster now. I still have bipolar disorder (the surgery center thinks this is why I never lost my hunger). Am I glad I did the surgery? Most days. Should you cancel your surgery? That's up to you. Most people do not end up regretting it.

Hi! I don't have MS but I have RA. I know it's like comparing apples and oranges, but they're still fruit. They're both still autoimmune diseases. I've had umm about six surgeries since my diagnosis and I've never experienced a flare from surgery. I do experience flares still occasionally, so it's not that I do not flare, but surgery never brings them on. My rheumy attributes my lack of flares to be that my RA is pretty much in remission. My rheumy is my biggest cheerleader for getting revision to RNY. She says getting to a more normal bmi will decrease inflammation and make my disease even milder. She says if I do flare after surgery, no problem, she'll just administer a steroid injection. So your neuro cleared you for surgery, they must feel that the benefits of the surgery will outweigh the risks. If you have any doubt, schedule another appointment with your neuro and discuss it with them. Has your wls surgeon okay'ed you for continuing the celebrex after sleeve surgery? I stopped mine after committing to revision to RNY. I had to know I could survive without it forever. I wish you all the best!

You have to keep in mind that you were filled with gas/air and fluids in the hospital and your body is wondering what the heck just happened to it. You're recovering. The weight is going to drop like a rock any day now. QUIT WEIGHING!

    Utter regret

Hello @carpeedim i had my surgery 03/02/2022 and i felt the same exact way , my anger and irritation was out the roof the first couple weeks i got so mad i kicked a hole in my door arguing with my spouse. Honestly I’m going to say it gets better to both of you . I have moments where i feel sad and I’m not sure why but i think i connected it with food . I never knew hose happy food made me until i couldn’t have it or have as much of it . I enrolled in therapy and I’m learning to cope with my emotions and irritation . But it will get better i promise you guys , I’m 5 weeks out and i have lost 45 pounds total . So trust me nothing great or deserving comes easy in life ,

    Medicare

Medicare is my primary and I have a supplement. They approved my sleeve surgery without any issues.
