    1 yr out food

My favorite smoothie is banana and nut butter but it’s too many calories to fit in my weight loss phase. That’s healthy calories if you use nut butter with no sugar or salt added.

So I had been taking the medication (Omeprazole/Prilosec) for 5+ years. About a month before the sleeve surgery I was required to stop taking it for 2 weeks in order to take an H-Pylori test. I stopped cold turkey and never took it again either before or after surgery. I had an endoscopy 18 months after WLS, I can't remember why, and my surgeon showed my evidence of GERD anymore. I never restarted taking it.

    Plastics May 10th

Thanks for the encouraging words and advice everyone. Lol, I did the Botox thing once in my early 40’s (I’m 53) and my kids were relentless. They would intentionally do things to make me angry so they could laugh at me when I couldn’t scowl at them. I love the smaller version of me, but all the “droopyness” EVERYWHERE is really getting on my nerves. I’m definitely not a fan of fillers, I just want the saggy skin gone. I will start trying to get some before and after pics going soon. I’m definitely going to want to chronicle my plastics journey. Like so many people here, I’ve become a pro at hiding the excess skin, but many times that game gets tiring. I’m a wimp when it comes to pain, but I’m so over this extra skin that I don’t care anymore.

That's really smart, and I'm happy that they offer complication insurance. I learned something new today, lol.

    Drinks with Ulcer

You’re allowed coffee but not tea? That sounds strange as it’s the caffeine that aggregates stomach ulcers - increases stomach acid production. I believe decaffeinated does the same thing. I found this link which advises what foods & drinks to avoid with an ulcer. It includes many of the things I reduced or avoided in my diet after it was discovered many years ago I over produced acid & had a couple of (thankfully very small) ulcers. May be worth a chat with your & dietician for alternatives (temporarily going plant based may be a solution??). You don’t want to consume anything which may exacerbate your ulcer & prolong its healing. https://www.drugs.com/cg/diet-for-stomach-ulcers-and-gastritis.html All the best.

    Gastric bypass and exhaustion

very common. It could take up to a couple of months before your previous energy is back. 8000-10,000 steps a day this soon after surgery would probably be overkill for most people - if it's wearing you out, I'd cut back. Your body needs a lot of energy to heal. You'll be back up there soon enough...

    Gastric bypass and exhaustion

As everyone has said, the lack of energy is very common & to be expected given the surgery, low calorie intake, etc. Try adding an electrolyte drink to your fluid rotation. I found them very helpful. You may be doing a little too much this soon after your surgery. How far are you walking? How often are you walking. Sometimes two shorter walks is easier than one long walk. Listen to your body. If it says you’re not ready take a step back with how much you’re doing & learn to love the nana nap. Rest & sleep is best for healing. All the best.

Not sarcasm. Dry wit. I had a blast when I was preparing for my marathons way back when. I take more pride in the marathons than I do the weight loss. One of my fondest memories is running across the Golden Gate Bridge. Enjoy and good luck, Tek
