    Low BMI pre op question

Yes you are nuts!! You asked I gave you an honest answer. Why on earth would you try to keep your bmi above 30 just so you can have an unnecessary surgery with your low bmi. Bloody hell woman surgery is not easy or a quick fix, it's hard and some days just plain horrible. Go see a shrink about your weight/ eating issues. I doubt any surgeon would do you with such a low BMI anyway and if they do I would expect they are very dodgy

So sorry to hear this! I’m glad that your providers are figuring out what is going on. Hopefully the spasms will subside soon, and you will be healing. Hopefully you will be on your journey towards eating and drinking regularly (for gastric sleeve, that is). This was not my scenario, but I had esophageal spasms and then vomiting for two months. I followed the doctor‘s advice, and it did eventually subside. I then had a normal response to the sleeve, and have lost most of the excess weight. So hang in there, and sip slowly throughout the day if allowed. Even though your recovery is not the usual, you will likely have good results eventually, once you pass this hurdle!

    Self pay questions

I’m signed up for gastric bypass in Tijuana and it’s $5800 for self pay plus $400 flight. It starts around $15k where I live in the US and insurance won’t cover it so to Mexico I go…

That's pretty sad. On these forums I see people on here from time to time and the questions they ask or the situations that they find themselves in, I often wonder how they passed their psych evaluation, because it's obvious that they have deeper issues that needed addressing before proceeding with wls.

    March 2022 Surgery Buddies

Pre-op appointment today. 2 week pre-op diet starts Monday. I've got to get some blood work and an ekg. My surgery is a revision. Distillation of my gastric bypass. It is out patient, I'll be home same day. They aren't doing anything with my pouch which is why it's out patient. I'm excited for the 21st to get here.

    April 2022 Surgery Buddies

Congrats!! I’m 4/19 in the NYC suburbs. Curious what they told you about how long it will take you to feel comfortable enough to fly home after surgery?
