    June Surgeries

I am celebrating! I finally reached a 100 lbs. down since surgery. Yay!

I had my TT (muscle repair, no lipo*) on 1/10/22. Recovery was what I expected pain wise but not time wise. For some crazy reason I thought I would bounce back in a couple of weeks - NOPE! The first week I needed help doing everything (except wiping my hiney - thank God). The drains were removed on day 8 which did not come quickly enough. I haven't had any major complications, just a minor (small hematoma) that resolved on its own. I'm still a bit tender but I can now sneeze/laugh/cough without my eyes tearing up. My scar is healing ahead of schedule (per surgeon). I tried silicone tape (week 3) but it made me itch so I just massage my scar with coconut oil daily but I do forget some days. I will be having scar revision in the future but that was always part of the plan. I have a high belly button and I also had a tattoo around my belly button. Not one of my smartest moves but what can I say, I was 20 something at the time. My surgeon does not make "T" incisions due to blood supply concerns. Also, since the entire tattoo could not be removed, I didn't want a totally distorted tattoo. So my scar at this time is higher than both he and I would prefer. The scar revision is an office procedure with local anesthesia so I didn't object. I chose to "stage" my lipo after my tummy tuck. I'm scheduled for lipo on 2/28/22. Why you may ask. I'm having multiple sites done (knees, inner thighs, saddle bags, and flanks). By doing it in "stages" the lipo of the flanks can be more "aggressive" than if I had it with the TT.

Hey friends. My surgery was February 14, 2022 at 2 pm. My surgery was textbook. No issues for my surgeon. I was in my room by 6 pm that evening. Now what happened after that is a much longer story. If anyone wants to hear it I will be happy to share. I wish everyone else a happy and healthy time as we do this thing!!

First Post - Not feeling full yet

Don’t worry most people don’t feel their restriction until they get to solid food. I am one that seems to have a larger pouch. I have always been able to eat more than expected at every given stage if I chose to and even still I have been able to lose weight. I just measure out my food. It’s not likely that you will experience this as it is very uncommon but Even if you did you can still lose by measuring out your portions.

    Help me

Okay, first of all there are hormones that were released during your surgery, so you're probably a little emotional right now. Second, did you think you were going to eat double cheeseburgers for the rest of your life? That part of your life is over. That's why you made the decision to get healthy and have the surgery in the first place. Third, the nausea should be over by now. If it isn't call your doctor and check to see why you're still nauseous. Maybe they can give you some anti-nausea medicine. Is it only when you eat? Is it all the time? Finally, talk to the therapist at your surgeon's office or through your health insurance. The mental part of obesity and hunger is the hardest part to tackle. Let somebody help you through it.

I do, too! Maybe after the first month or so post op I'll ask my doctor if I switch to the patches. Then do blood work and see if levels are good.

My surgery is also scheduled for 2/24. Pre-op diet for me starts this Thursday. I’m so tired of yo-yo dieting, fasting, low carb, high carb, low fat, keto, etc. Getting ready for a new start! Good luck for surgery. You got this. We got this!
