Perhaps it's time for some therapeutic help before things get way out of hand. Good luck, Tek

    Almost 1 year…2 month stall

20 months. But I started out at over 300 lbs. I can tell you, though - those last 20 lbs or so before you hit a normal BMI are a BEAR to get off! I thought they'd NEVER come off!

    September Surgery Buddies!!

to Arancini - Re: but I just found out that I have inactive thyroid and possibly fatty liver. ...I have been on thyroid medication for 13 years. It has not affected my surgery or post-op. Usually, you have to have your thyroid levels checked about every 90 days

i has my RNY Nov 1, 2021, the first two things that jumped out when i woke up is, had to pee so bad and wanted to throw up! Being groogy i held it and told the nurses needed to pee. After that all i thought about was the feeling to puke. My pain was minimal. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G973U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Final Choice

25 years ago a more distal bypass was more common after which severe anemia was sometimes an issue. I've known of at least a couple people that had anemia issues that required blood. Much, much less common these days with the generally proximal bypasses done now. Statistically such horrible complications are rare but we humans give more weight to them when they happen to someone we know. However, complications DO happen even if severe ones are rare. I've encountered people with just about every complication conceivable. Good luck, Tek

Here are just a couple of the silly things that have made me smile the last couple weeks: 1. I can buy cute underwear that are not made out of white flour sack material. 2. I can put on my socks in the morning with out making strange sounds and grunting. 3. When getting dressed to go somewhere the first thing out of my mouth is NOT "does this make me look fat!"

    Food Before and After Photos

I love chicken pad Thai so much, but I haven't had it in months. I used to eat a full order in a sitting at least once a week. Last night i asked if they could replace the rice noodles with bean sprouts and ate 1/4th of an order (about 1 cup). My husband's full order is included for comparison. It was amazing!
