    Gastric sleeve

Uhhh... several of us, including me, said that regret is common. Also, even if you have PCOS, they are not going to do a bariatric surgery if you are already at a healthy weight.

The 30 grams things came out of body builders (of which I am definitely not one). In terms of muscle-building and muscle-retention, anything more than 30 grams at a time probably isn't going to have a much bigger impact than 30. But that protein is used for many purposes, including amino acids and any excess protein is broken down into energy. At least for me, its a good source of energy. If I drink the Chike shake at 7:30-8am, I'm not hungry until noon. And I routinely get >100g of protein throughout the day. I am losing weight (135 pounds as I approach my six month anniversary), my doc loves my bloodwork and I have great energy, so if it ain't broke, I'm not going to fix it. I am not going to make perfect the enemy of the good.

    Waiting for a surgery date

It’s been 4 days since the insurance approved. I’m going to inquire. It can’t hurt. I feel like the squeaky wheel!

    RYGB- Limb Lengthening

I also am not familiar with that surgery, but the general rule I've heard is that each successive weight loss surgery will have less weight loss, so if you have a sleeve, lose weight, and then have bypass (whether due to GERD or regain) you will not likely lose as much as you did with the initial surgery.

    February 2022 Surgery Buddies

Good luck to you! I'm scheduled for the sleeve on Feb 23rd in LA. I haven't lost any weight but a couple of pounds. I lose 1/2 pound a month. Ugh. Love the picture of Huskys. I have a German Sheppard, my son has half husky, half GS beautiful dog.

I done the milk diet for 2 weeks pre op, lost 16lb and had a headache the whole time despite drinking 3L of water but I just kept reminding myself why and my goals and it made it bearable. Good luck 😉

    February 2022 Surgery Buddies

Only 4 days post op but feel confident to say that the prep week was harder than the surgery! I was hungry all the time with zero energy. Try to stict as close to the prep diet as possible as it really does make your surgery shorter, with fewer complications and less residual pain. Mostly because the more you shrink your liver, the better off all those things are. Heard that from Bari and Hysterectomy surgeon. If you slip (which I did 2 times) in that week. I had 1 or 2 bites and followed it up with lots and lots of water. Sent from my SM-G970U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Initial weight vs current weight

Started pre-op diet at 276lbs. Surgery was cancelled for another 2 months but I kept calorie counting that whole time so in total I lost 25lbs pre-op in the end. Surgery weight 251 Date of sleeve 17 November 2021 Current weight 220 So that's 31lbs off in 11.5 weeks since surgery. 8lbs in the week of surgery then a long post-op stall that lasted over 3 weeks. I have really found a groove with my eating and am losing a steady 2lbs a week at the minute. I do drink some alcohol every weekend which I know is completely empty calories, but it's something I have chosen to do and factor in. If I stall again or once my rate of loss slows I'll probably stop it again! Hope that helps. I loved reading other people's stats pre-op and I still do really. 😍 Keep asking questions - it's a big decision, a lifelong commitment to being different, and there is such a lot of experience in this group you're absolutely right to use it.

    My experience… sleeved on 1/22/22

Today is first day I didn’t have a loss on the scale. Actually put 1/2 lb on 252!!!! As I’m reading this, I’m getting ready to go walk at gym. I had my 11.5 oz fairlife chocolate protein shake for breakfast. Water while walking. 1 cup of tomatoe vegetable(strained of course) soup for lunch . More water, Okios pro yogurt for dinner. Hot tea and jello cup for dessert. I still have 4 week before I head back to work. Loving the process so far, looking forward to phase 3 next week with purée veggies and chopped meat!!
