    Hello

I started my journey in July, 2021. I'm am 47 years old female, almost 48 next week. I've been heavy all my life. I have currently lost aprox 55 lbs. Waiting on surgery approval from insurance. I was diagnosed with MS in 2012. I have issues with mobility and trying to do exercises. Guess it's more motivation also is needed. This last week I've anxiety issues with some neighbors. Doing good at not eating my emotions. Anxiety is doing a number on my body. Looking for friends and accountability. I'm from PNW Oregon. Sent from my SM-T878U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Feeling bad

Try an electrolyte drink too. It will give you a boost of energy. I carried some with me for months & I often take some with me if I’m going to be active. Low BP can be can be difficult to deal with - the vision fade outs, doughy or thick head, energy drops, … I have it all day every day. My BP sits around 70+/- over 50+/- but it’s not uncommon for it to be lower. Personally I’d avoid the coffee & try tea instead - less caffeine. You don’t need the shakes from too much caffeine on top of everything else. Keep your fluids up. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi I’m 34 and looking forward to having the sleeve next year. I’m really hoping this surgery will boost my confidence and help me get back into the flow of dating. I’m so tired of being used, closet girlfriend or finding out I’m a side chick. Oh that’s hard to even write. It hurts and has caused me to kinda shut down on the dating. I’ve always been very out going, confident and enjoyed dating and I can’t wait to be there again. I’d love to hear some uplifting stories of dating success after survey.

He is basically skin and bones and a giant but dysfunctional brain. We're still very close. The word in Spanish is "amigovios", if you speak Spanish. If not, it's a cross between "amigos" (friends) and "novios" (boyfriend/girlfriend). He's actually really supportive of my weight loss efforts, despite liking larger women and not understanding weight issues at all. He's 5'10" and weighs 135lb soaking wet and holding a cheese stick (that is literally how he weighed himself when he was here last).

Find a counselor who deals with weight issues and/or bariatric patients. Both my counselor and my psychiatrist have heavy concentrations working with people who've had WLS, so they understand my issues.

How long from consult to surgery?

Mine is 6 weeks. I have 3 more of the 6 to go. And the only real reason is just because of scheduling. My surgery date is Feb. 23, 2022, it was the next available.

Happened to me after VBG I 2004. 12-03-2021 I had a revision to RNY do to complications with Gerd hernias and me closed esophagus. They did not repair hernias. I've lost 40lbs and can barely feel either hernia anymore and can eat without issues!

    Hi

My sw was 280… I’m a little over 9 months out and I’m down 101lbs. At 3 months out, I was down around 45lbs. I’ve had a few stalls here and there but I couldn’t be happier. Remember - it’s a staircase, not a slope.

I've got the one sure-fire way to avoid stalls: Get off the scale. Scales are crazy-makers. You know the saying that a watched pot never boils? Well, a watched scale never moves. Trust your plan and the weight will come off. Good luck, Tek

Hi there, I don’t have exactly what you are looking for but have some thoughts about confidence. I have just scheduled a few consults and am >300 lbs and have continued to date. Not everyone is interested in me. That’s fine and I don’t let that stop me. Therapy has gotten me to a place where I see myself as strong and confident despite my imperfections I found reading Brene Brown’s books or watching some of her Ted talks on the power of vulnerability, shame, and the power of imperfection very useful. Now there is weight/size but after surgery there may be extra skin, stretch marks, and even regain so my one piece of advice is to try to think of all of those physical “flaws” as battle scars from fighting a disease that not everyone has to deal with. If people you date don’t give you the respect you deserve then screw them. You are strong in your imperfection and deserve better.
