    Go on youtube. THere are so many of these videos. I probably watched 20 of them from different people who made a video regarding this exact subject. Was very informative.

    This has happened to others. Part of the human condition is that we often fail. You should not feel shame that you haven't lost more weight. Shame related to weight is counter productive. The pouch reset, of course, is nonsense. It want's people to think that the draconian diet they put you on for weeks or months has a purpose. You don't consume calories and lose weight? Amazing stuff there. So they try to reframe it as breaking & building new habits. You can do that without the draconian measures, probably better if you're not lying to yourself about what you're doing. Now down to the important issue: How do you get back on track? Get back on track. Think of this as a marathon. You've run a few miles then fall. What do you do? Do you get up and go back to the beginning, and start again? Do you go through your pre-race rituals? No. You get back up run. You don't warm up again, you don't strip down and redress? No. You just get up and get going. One foot in front of the other. So, you figured out you fell.     Oh my God. I loved those afternoon naps. Sometimes I wish I still had a great excuse to have a nana nap.

    Potatoes 5 weeks out

    I ate mashed potatoes at that stage and added protein powder and nutritional yeast. My dietitian also went on a rant about how the potato has been unfairly demonized and that potatoes are fine in moderation so I'm going with that.

    Been there, done that. YES you can reset your pouch by going back to basics in terms of food portions, tracking, protein, water, and exercise. YES it can be done. I just lost 25 pounds since October after gaining weight during COVID. Don't be like me, though, because I skipped an appt with my surgeon and nutritionist because I was embarrassed about the weight gain and didn't want them to see me. I should have gone anyway. That's what they're there for, to help and guide us. So please go to your upcoming appt and just accept any advice they give.

    January Surgery buddies

    I’m on day 5 post op. Everything seems to be going pretty well. My Dr has moved me to phase 2 eating, creamy soups, yogurts ith fruit flavor no pieces of fruit. Also soft boiled egg To go along with my protein shakes. I started my bariatric vitamins B12 dissolveable tablet, Calcium Citrate 1000mg chewable(not so great) and a multi that looks like a starburst candy!!!! So far I have been walking abouT 1.5-2 miles each morning( not today 12in snow) I find it easier to drink while on my walk rather than sitting down. I have to say that I am not hungry at all. I know I have to eat which I am doing getting in 60-80g protein and 64 oz liquids. It’s just weird that I’m not looking to graze in the fridge!!!! Also I am keeping a food journal, times and how much and protein taken in and am also using Baritastic app to track weight and goals and food as well. Might be a little over kill the journal but for now I seem to like it. Just wanted to share my first week with everyone because I’m proud of the work I’m doing!!!!

    Potatoes 5 weeks out

    I have made the decision to avoid white potato, I did try sweet potato mash (I too am approx. 5 week out) and it went down like a lead balloon, I was in agony. No potato for me, and to be honest, I don't really miss it.

    Everyone is different, but for me, I felt differences at 1 week, 2 weeks, and then pretty normal at 4 weeks. The fatigue was intense the first month (I took daily afternoon naps) but after that I really felt great.

    not only is it acidic, it's carbonated. Not a good choice at less than a month out. You're still healing. Plus transfer addiction is unfortunately a real thing - some people develop issues with alcohol after bariatric surgery. So I'd be careful. we were told to wait a year after surgery to indulge - some people are told six months. Some may not have to wait as long, but 3.5 weeks is way too early.

    Potatoes 5 weeks out

    During my soft food phase I was advised to eat mashes, like baked salmon with potato put in a blender! It went down wonderfully and I really enjoyed it. I’d say it was like 250g of salmon to one small-medium potato. Obviously no milk or cream added so you can freeze it in small portions! I’ve eaten potato over a dozen times now after the soft food phase, I just incorporate it into the vegetable part of my meal. It’s delicious and so long as I eat slowly, goes down just fine and sits very well! 🤗
