    Banza chickpea crust frozen pizza

I follow a girl on YouTube who is on a weight loss journey and she does Grocery Haul videos and she says it's very good.

My surgeon's office was in the hospital itself, so he had me trot around to various departments. The EKG was in the cardiology department. The blood work and urine sample were in the lab across the hall. The only involvement my primary care doctor had was a separate appointment to give final clearance for surgery, which was basically him reviewing the results of the labs and EKG and then going, “Are you ready?” “As ready as I’ll ever be.”

    Protein Intake A Struggle

I do better with “thin” shakes that don’t have thickeners. I’m able to sip much more often that way. I’ve also had lots of success with protein jello from bariwise and mixing unflavored protein into jello pudding to get extra protein in.

I went ultra-low carb (20g net carbs a day), but I’m not vegetarian so it would’ve been easier for me. This was not my prescribed program, i chose to do this on my own (and fully disclosed it to my NUT). I didn’t eat any fruit during weight loss phase save for the occasional berry (least amount of sugar in the fruit family). But i do now at 3+ years post op. You can try google-ing Vegetarian Keto for some food/recipe ideas, but i think that so soon after surgery you may not reach your bariatric protein requirements and stay below your maintenance calories to be true Keto. So maybe a modified version of it?

    End goal weight

My doc had a goal of 60% excess weight loss, which was 175 lbs. I chose the mid-point of “normal” BMI range for my height: 120 lbs. I ended up revising my goal and ceased weight loss efforts at 127 because I felt I was looking too gaunt when I reached that number. Am 3+ years post op now and weighed 117.2 this morning. My insignificant opinion is to set a reasonable goal weight and adjust as necessary given how you feel, how YOU think you look, and the efforts you are willing to put in. Good Luck! ❤️

    Liquid protein

I had issues with shakes tasting too sweet early on too. It has caffeine so follow your teams rules on that but if your allowed it and like coffee flavor the premiere protein caffe latte was the only one I could tolorate the taste of.

I really haven't had any fruit to speak of for 3 years. I'm not a big fan of fruit in the first place, but mostly because I focus on the protein I'm full by the time I eat that and I can only get in a couple of forkfuls of a veggie before being done. No room for anything else.

    January Surgery buddies

Hey everyone just stopping by to say I had my surgery today at 10am. I have been in and out of sleep with some pain. My throat is dry as hell and I can’t wait for a sip of water. I have been gargling though. Waiting to go on my first walk now. Can’t wait to start this new chapter!

    Taming Cravings

My main strategy is to fill up on low-calorie foods. Once a week, I buy and prep a bunch of snack veggies (celery, carrot chips, cucumber slices, pepper slices, and cherry tomatoes). I portion them out in meal prep containers, one for each day, and I have a saved meal that I enter in My Fitness Pal at the beginning of the day. Then I snack on the veggies whenever I want (I usually split them between mid-morning and mid-afternoon), knowing that they’re already accounted for. I use Walden Farms “calorie-free” dressing as a dip. It is a LOT of food for ~60 calories. If I’m in the mood for something warm, my go-to is cauliflower rice with Flavor God cheese seasoning and Mrs. Dash. Or I make a soup with cauliflower rice and chicken broth. 20-30 calories and very satisfying. I have a great substitution for ice cream! Whip pasteurized egg whites (safe to eat without cooking) with cream of tartar, calorie-free sugar substitute, and flavoring of choice (vanilla is delicious but I like to experiment with different flavors of One-On-One) and freeze. It’s best to eat before it’s frozen solid, or after letting it soften for a few minutes. It makes about 1 cup for just 25 calories, and it’s dairy-free and high in protein. I also use it (without freezing) as a substitute for whipped cream and put it on 10-calorie sugar-free Jello. Sometimes just looking at the nutrition information is enough to deter me. One time someone brought donuts to work and they were calling my name. I looked up the nutrition info to see how bad a small glazed donut would be, and it was 280 calories! I could eat two Built Bars for that and I would enjoy them more, and once I looked at it that way, I had no desire to eat the donut. Not worth it!
