    Hospital essentials

Virtually everything was provided. Dental hygiene, personal hygiene, socks with grips on the bottom, everything. I brought a book. I purposely didn't bring any electronics as it would have compelled me to work. Good luck, Tek

    Goal #1: COMPLETE!

Had my RNY October 5th. I was diabetic, so getting off those meds was goal #1. After the 2-week pre-op diet, I had come off all my meds, but was hesitant to say I would be free from those after surgery. Had my appointment with my diabetes doc at 4-weeks post-op, she declared my diabetes was now in remission, and we said our goodbyes! Daily glucose sticks are between 80-92...no matter when I test them! Goal #2...reduce size & get back to feeling "normal", whatever that will be!

There are nut and coconut yogurts especially for vegans. I like coconut milk best of all the alternate milks.

No study done, In the largest incision, there was a pucker that it now gone. The NP determined this based on the location of my pain and when the pain increased. This was all done over the phone. I did have a follow up appt with her a week after we spoke on the phone and by then the pain was gone.

    Revision from sleeve to bypass

Earlier this week insurance was a no go. This afternoon about 1:30 we get word it's been approved and surgery is set for the day after Thanksgiving. I'm starting the pre-op diet tomorrow. I wish I could remember what I needed and didn't need to take to the hospital eleven years ago!! Following several threads closely.

Am I done losing after 5 months?

I can't offer assurances but I can commiserate. I was sleeved 5/12 and am very much in the same boat. My weight has remained pretty steadily the same for the last 3 weeks approximately. So frustrating especially because I'm soo close to being under 200lbs. And similarly I'm feeling less restriction and getting hungry more often. I'm trying to eat more slowly as that really helps with feeling the restriction. But I'm mostly just trying to stay on course and hope my body will eventually move forward. I'd hate to think I hit the end of the road at only 5 months. I see my surgeon in a few weeks for a 6 month follow up so perhaps he will have some advice. Good luck!

How soon does one poop post-op?

I pooped maybe 24 hours after surgery. I haven't had a problem. Once of my prescriptions was for stool softeners but I didn't need it.
