    stuck at 50 pounds down

From what I have read on this forum, this is def not the norm. As a sleeve patient myself (3 years post op) I average 1800-2000 calories a day, and have been maintaining my current weight for over 2 years (and I'm 5'2", 115 lbs) Everyone will have different maintenance calories depending on a whole slew of factors. Each person needs to figure out what that is for their own individual set of circumstances.

    Gastric Bypass Take 2?

I posted back in August about my surgery getting canceled because of a covid surge in my area. I was devastated and facing losing my insurance. As luck would have it, I got to keep my insurance another month and was rescheduled for tomorrow. I have been trying really hard not to get my hopes up, but I just had my pre-op appointment and so far everything is a go. I’m crossing every appendage I have that tomorrow goes off without a hitch. I’m supposed to check in at the hospital at 10 am.

I have a very large dog as well and was walking him the first day home from surgery. As long as you’re sure you’re not going to be pulled it’s perfectly fine.

What does the surgery feel like?

Last month I had VSG to RNY for gerd/esophagitis. For me, I fell asleep (without realizing it), woke up, stomach felt like I had done a zillion sit-ups when I tried to move, my throat was sore, I slept rest of the day. Pain was 100% doable, nausea minimal. I don't even remember the nausea part but my husband who was right next to me said I said "I'm prone to nausea" when I first woke up lol.

What does the surgery feel like?

I've had four surgeries in my lifetime. It's like the others have said - one minute you're chatting with the nurses, the next minute you're in the recovery room. It's kind of bizarre....

What does the surgery feel like?

For me, one moment I’m joking/chatting with the anaesthesiologist & the next I’m waking in recovery. I usually feel a little heavy in the head or disorientated for a minute or so but then I’m fine. Sometimes I doze off again. You may find your body feels a little odd for a short time too like is it really your body especially if you have drains, drips, etc. Little gentle stretches & flexing your muscles help to reacquaint yourself with your body. You may find you don’t remember exactly what happens after you wake clearly - I can never remember how I get my glasses back. Did they give them to me? Did they put them on me? Was I wearing them when I woke? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hope you get your date soon.

    New feeling. Not hungry. Update.

I am scheduled for a revision in December. I am so encouraged by this. I have always been hungry. And I know my stomach empties fast. I pray that I lose the hungry feeling. Glad you're doing well.

    New feeling. Not hungry. Update.

Almost two weeks now, and am feeling pretty much the same. Pretty good. A little tired though. No acid reflux or burning throat, sleeping well. My sore throat from the surgery went away by day 2, gas pains by day 3. Had a big lump under one of my incisions but it healed really well, but the lump is still there. No pain at the incision but I see my surgeon in a few days. I'm eating between 400-600 cal. Trying to meet my protein goals but alas, it is hard. I have no idea how many calories I should be eating though. My surgeon said not to worry about that right now. Thank you so much for asking!!! 😘

    6 Months and Stalled

About hair, up your protein grams with a collagen powder in your drink. Really helped me. I did have a slight stall somewhere in the middle of the year but then it started coming off again.
