Who lost a lot before surgery?

I lost 57 lbs before surgery (I think about 15 of that was on the two-week pre-op diet, though - so 42 lbs before the pre-op diet). you'll likely lose on the low side the first month after surgery, since for most people, a lot of that huge drop the first month is water weight, and your water weight is long gone. Mine was, too. I lost 16 lbs the first month. after the first month, I don't think it makes a difference if you lost weight pre-surgery or not. surgeons usually quote you the average weight loss (60-70% of your excess weight), because statistically, that's where most people end up. But a statistic is a statistic - there are always people who are going to lose more or less than that. If you really work at it, you can do better than that. I almost never went off my plan and lost 100% of my excess weight.

Who lost a lot before surgery?

Not a ton. I had bulked up for a strongman contest in April which put me at 376, and today I was 356. I’d love to be under 350 for surgery (yay liquid diet) but if it doesn’t happen before surgery it sure as shootin’ will after surgery. Good luck lizonaplane!! I’m Tuesday so will be following any updates you feel ready to make!

Hello! I am also scheduled for 9/20. I am still awaiting approval though, which is super frustrating, but I am hoping this all works out. I am not getting bypass, but sleeve. Yes, it's been a long process, but I feel blessed for the opportunity and excited for the changes to come!

    Fatigue

Yes initially I felt the same way. It does pass overtime as the body adjusts. Just focus on good nutrition and vitamins and try to get in steps each day even just walking around the neighborhood. Best of luck to you and believe me, you've got this!

    Fatigue

Yes, I’m almost at 4 weeks and I’m tired too. Just less energy which I’m trying to make it look like I’m cool and low key at work. I have increased my protein intake, but I put on pajamas when I get home. I think it’s normal because we’re still healing. I feel like I’m 80% there and getting better. I’m enjoying the weight loss and no hunger!

Hi *Paula*! Good luck with Wegovy, I hope it is successful in helping you lose weight. Some thing that I purchased before or since surgery that I found helpful are: 1. Food Scale 2. Mini travel food processor 3. 2 oz disposable containers 4. 4 oz containers 5. Food thermos for soups, purées, soft foods or bringing food 6. Warm travel cup (with strainer) for broths 7. Blender cups for protein shakes 8. Food: based on pre op & post op diets (i.e. protein shakes, sugar-free jello, sugar-free ice pops, broths) 9. Vitamins: based on what I was told I would need post surgery (i.e. Calcium citrate, Multivitamin) 10. Measuring tape 11. Scale 12. Journal /logging/tracking supplies Good luck to you!

Yes, makes perfect sense. When I do what I'm supposed to do I can take off weight fairly easily but not as easily with the band and I haven't been as motivated to keep it off. I had my band removed in 2018 and I am now 2 weeks post op VSG. I'm glad to hear that you have done the work and have a supportive circle. Now, it's up to us to commit, remain consistent and do what we know to do.

    Skin Removal Recommendations

Here are few favorites: Oppenheimer, Hockstein, Earle, Zuriarrain, Hammoudeh You can check out their website, IG FB, etc for before/after pics. Miami is the center of the PS universe. If you go to Miami, I would recommend the private practices only, and stay away from the clinics!
