Hi! Anyone have Cigna and have trouble getting approved with just mild sleep apnea (35 BMI)? I see “obstructive sleep apnea “ is listed as one comorbidity so I’m hoping a mild case still qualifies me? I’m hoping for gastric sleeve approval. thank you

18 months out & still loosing

Hi rjan, I enjoyed reading your post. I was sleeved in July 2020, having a SW of 200# at 5’4”, similar to your stats. I am losing weight at a REALLY slow pace at this point. It has taken me 8 mos. to lose the last 10 lbs!! I figure it’s due to 1) a relatively low starting BMI, 2) my age (68), and 3) having the sleeve vs. the bypass. But your post is personally encouraging to me; I’ll keep plugging along!

Yes, people loved my ex. Except my Dad, he saw through the mask he wore for everyone else. My family was very supportive because the last straw involved the kids. I went and had my haircut and he told my toddlers that this is what (very derogatory terms for females look like). I didn’t want them to remember this and I didn’t want my daughter growing up thinking she was an object to be ruled by men. I will admit that the loss of his income was hard. I felt lonely being single but I focused my mind into work and my kids. After awhile, I started to love who I was. Whether you decide divorce or a separation is up to you. You know you better than I do. If you choose to stay, I would not belittle your choice. As I had tried to leave my ex four times before the last. I wis you luck and will praying for you. I hope you get your surgery and my thoughts will be with you when do.

Ask him if he remembers his wedding vows. Mine had a bit about in sickness and health. Obesity is a chronic disease. Medical professionals have provided you a treatment plan for your disease. Would he balk at supporting you in your chemo treatments if the disease you had was cancer? If he doesn’t come around, I’d suggest part of your pre-op preparations should be therapy for you and consulting a divorce lawyer. You don’t even have to say anything to him, but at least prepare yourself for the worst case scenario.
