    Driver's License

I noticed today that I actually weigh 5 lbs. less than the wild lie that has been listed on my driver's license for the past 25 years! 🤣🤩 I guess it qualifies as a NSV.

116 lbs. ago you were probably desperate to be where you are now. Don't lose sight of what you have accomplished.

    Calories

I struggled with getting enough calories in the first several weeks. Still have days, that I barely get in 500-600 just because I am not hungry. Try a couple of protein shakes a day...@150-180 calories each, that will give you at least 300+, plus, it will count toward your fluid total. Good Luck!

I applied for the tsa pre check and got a triple take when she looked at my passport photo. It was nice. (It went through anyway without issue)… way I figure is I have enough before and after collages on my phone that I’d either have to be some ultra tech enabled spy or just a guy who used to be fat. Id like to meet the person who thinks it’s the former, they probably have good stories.

    Question

Oh yeah. I forgot about the soap. Then they also made me wipe down again the morning of the surgery even though I used that soap the night before and morning of. LOL

    Question

I had to watch a video, they gave me surgical soap to bath with before surgery and I had to sign some papers.

    Feeling down

I'd lost way less than 116 lbs at eight months out, so you're much further ahead than I was at that point. My stalls became more frequent and lasted longer the further out I went - and my weight loss slowed to a crawl. But I kept at it regardless, and I ended up losing all of my excess weight, over 200 lbs. It took 20 months in total. in short, don't give up yet!

    Revision surgery

I'm not sure where you're located but Dr. Ayoola (pronounced Eye Ola) is located in the Dallas area. I have a friend who had a sleeve to DS revision. She loves this doctor, and trust him completely. She's very happy with her revision. weight loss stall

Ok breathe. You haven’t messed up. First, because a lot of nerve endings have been cut during your surgery you won’t feel full like you used to until you’re healed. Now you’re on soft food you’ll likely start to feel full sooner as soft food takes longer to pass through your tummy than liquids & purées. But try to avoid feeling full. (You don’t want to stress or put strain on your healing tummy - remember all those stitches & staples holding your tummy together.) Because it takes time for the message to get from your tummy to your head, by the time you think you’re full you’ve likely past full. Make sure you eat slowly to allow time for the message to get through. Asking myself if I needed the next bite or just wanted it was a game changer for me. I still ask myself that question. Second, portion size is very important. What portion size were you advised? Mine was 1/4 - 1/3cup. Thirdly, our weight always fluctuates. Fluid retention, constipation, eating a little more one day, etc. can cause us to gain. Plus, there are stalls. Many experience the first one at about 3 weeks - can be earlier can be later. They tend to last 1 - 3 weeks. You can experience a couple of them as you lose. Your body is going through a lot of changes & it just needs a break to come to terms with everything. They do break. Just stick to your plan.

What is your 1st major milestone?

Love this topic! So far my milestones have been: BMI under 40 and out of the obese class III category Being able to walk my neighborhood hills without stopping for a break. Reaching my most recent "low" weight of 130 Reaching 215-220, the weight range I maintained between ages 25-35 Body fat composition being below 50% fat (it's at 49% right now, but still) fitting into my smaller sized clothing stash Upcoming short to mid-term milestones that I am looking forward to include being under 200#, BMI under 35, weighing less than my husband, and walking the neighborhood hill loop in under 40 minutes.
