    Surgeon Disappointed 😞

Nope… I consistently lost 15 pounds a month for like the first 4-5 months. I thought I was going to be a slow loser since I “only” lost 15 that first month, but it just kept happening. Usually weight loss does slow after the first month or two, but if you stick with your plan you will keep losing and it adds up quick. We all lose at our own rates, so try not to compare yourself to others. 21 pounds the first month is awesome. You are doing great! Just keep on keeping on, and stick with your plan. 😊

    Surgeon Disappointed 😞

I'm 6 weeks out from surgery today, and since the date of my surgery I've lost 21lbs. 33 overall with the LRD. You're doing amazing if you've lost that in only 4 weeks!!! Don't let your surgeon make you feel down, 21lb in 4 weeks is incredible progress. I had a consultation with my surgeon at 3 weeks post-op, and I had lost 15lb at that time and he was really pleased with my progress. He also told me that he wouldn't have wanted me to lose much more than 15lb in those 3 weeks, and that it would slow down a lot in the following couple of weeks. You're doing great!

    Surgeon Disappointed 😞

I think you are doing great as well. What an idiot your surgeon is. You know they are really good at what they do but most do NOT have any people skills whatsoever. Keep on doing what you are doing and when you reach your goal weight you can strut in there and show him he was wrong.

    Dumping syndrome

What you describe is not dumping. It sounds like you ate too fast, you probably didn't chew well enough, and your pouch was mildly blocked. The dry-heaving is you trying to get rid of the blockage. Dumping occurs after you've eaten. It is your bodies response to eating too much sugar or fat in some cases. Your stomach / intestines put out a "We need water here" which your body responds dramatically. All this fluid in your intestines are what cause the Dumping symptoms. The symptoms include sweating, heart palpitations, nausea, gastric distress, cramps, and the forever popular diarrhea. Good luck. Tek

    Surgeon Disappointed 😞

Hi everyone. Yesterday marked my 4 week post op since my surgery date on June 17th. I had the sleeve. I have lost a total of 21 lbs since then. I felt good until I left my 4 week appt. yesterday & my surgeon said I didn't lose enough and he wanted to see me lose more. I've been down since then. I thought I was doing well. Does anybody know the average weight loss for 4 weeks?

    July 2021 Surgery People!

Hi everyone! Just checking in five days post op. I've been feeling pretty good! My 3rd day after surgery was the turning point when I started feeling better. I think that was when all the surgery meds were out of my system. The nausea went away at that point and I didn't have any real pain just a little discomfort. I have been doing fine getting my water in, and today is the first day that I think I'll be able to do all of my protein shakes. I am also allowed to have some pureed food. I had a few ounces of pureed cream soup two days ago and it was good. Yesterday I tried pureed refried beans and those were satisfying. I haven't had any problems with my sleeve hurting when I eat or drink. I am pretty cautious in my sip/bite sizes, probably from my years of terrible experiences with my lap band. I had no interest in food whatsoever for the first few days after my band, and I really haven't felt hunger yet. I have noticed myself paying more attention to some foods on advertisements or when I am cooking and serving my children their meals. But overall it has been very easy to control. I think part of it is knowing that I can have any food I want eventually in small amounts at some point in the future. That makes me feel less obsessive about it. This week I want to work on getting my calories up a little bit. I think I've only been around 200- 300 calories a day, and I had a dream last night where my hair was falling out, so I think my body is telling me to get a little more nutrition in there. My main issue now is a lack of a BM. I hadn't had one for at least a few days before surgery and I haven't had any since then so that's like seven or eight days. I've been taking Miralax since before surgery and every day since then, so I don't think it is a water issue. I think I have motility issues with my actual intestines, and I'm sure the tiny amounts that I'm eating aren't helping that. I'm feeling a little bit bloated but not any pains. I probably will call my doctor on Monday and see if I need to add some sort of fiber supplement to help. Anyway things are good so far. I hope everybody else who still recuperating is doing well, and good luck to those of you who are having surgery this week!

    Low start bmi …

About half of that weight was lost in the preop diet phase. The other half was lost after the surgery. I just completed week 5. Had a pretty good normal stall at 3 weeks that lasted about a week. I follow the diet strictly, and i walk 3 to 6 miles a day. I avoid carbs as much as i can. Lots and lots of water. Just giving you some perspective to my numbers. Everyone is different. We are all losers, but the good kind. Whether it comes off fast or slow life is better 1 lb at a time.

    Scared

Yes, I think everyone is at least some. I was scared until they put me under anesthesia. I had plenty of second thoughts, but now it’s been seven months and I’ve lost almost 100 lbs and I feel so much healthier, I’m so glad I got over my nerves. I think you will do great! You got this!
