Are you able to have a visit with a nutrition at your surgeon’s office to develop a maintenance plan?

Guys, I need some encouragement here. I had my sleeve done on April 6, and everything went as planned. However, after losing 21 pounds in fourteen days, I have been stalled for a week! I'm seriously crashing here, because it's like all my failures in weight loss are coming back! I am following the dietician's recommendations to the letter, walking 2 miles each day. . .HELP!!!

    VGS vs Bypass

When you pick a doctor, definately ask about their experiences with patients having acid issues after sleeve. How often does it happen to their patients? What treatments do they pursue? How many of them need surgical revision? Some doctors will have a better handle on this than others. Also ask...how have you modified your technique to avoid acid issues with sleeve? Do you have fewer patients with post surgical acid issues now? Have you done any recent continuing education on patients who experience acid with sleeve? Go to someone who is part of the conversation for the newest ideas in surgery. It's not a guarantee you won't have problems, but it increases your odds for success.

    VGS vs Bypass

I had acid, but learned during my pre-surgical endoscope that it was due to a HUGE hiatal hernia. Doc fixed the hernia when we did my sleeve and I have had no acid since (three and a half years)

Too much biotin can also falsely elevate liver values for bloodwork. I agree with your NUT, it’s very overrated and does not do much for hair loss. Hair loss is followed in periods of extreme stress or changes to the body. It will come back.

    Protein drinks

if you already have kidney issues, then yes - you need to be careful. Otherwise, unless you're really overloading on it, you're probably fine. I have about 100 grams a day and have never had issues.

18 Years post-op. I don't really focus on weight gain / loss nor my plan. I'm pretty much on autopilot for such things. At my last medical appointment I was at the top of 'normal' BMI. That's more or less where I've been most of the time. The novel coronavirus hasn't really impacted my life other than hair cuts. I need a hair cut. Oh, the pandemic did kill a few vacations, so looking forward to those starting back up. Good luck Tek

    Abdominal pain 2 weeks out?

I would say that if you are really concerned just ask your surgeon or the office they have answered every question out there so they should be able to help. But a few days after my surgery, I felt what I thought was a weird lump under my biggest incision (where they removed the stomach) and it really freaked me out. I thought I had a hernia or something and had that dull pain which did sometimes become sharper when I stood. For me, it ended up being where the muscle was healing together. It went away after about a month but was getting better during that time. My surgeon's office said that it's something to be concerned about if it is getting worse.

Any tall people who had surgery?

I'm 5'10, started at 334 HW and 292 day of surgery. At 3 months I was down 40 lbs to 250. I was a "slower" loser, but have lost over 175 lbs and couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the reply’s everyone. But it’s more curiosity than anything. I see a lot of shorter people on here and not really height testimonies. I know everyone is different and their bodies and using your tool as best as possible with eating right and exercise. I’m new to all this .. scared but determined. Just nice and encouraging to here EVERYONES testimony about there weight loss esp in height bc I am a tall obese woman.
