    Waffle recipe

Hello! I thought Iโ€™d drop in and share a waffle recipe that I really like. 1/4 cup oats (I use quick oats, but rolled work as well) 1/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt 1/2 small banana 1 large egg 1 scoop vanilla protein powder 1/4 tsp baking powder splash of vanilla blend all the ingredients together until smooth, then you can make it in a waffle iron or make pancakes with it. This does make about 3 waffles, so you can scale down the recipe or save some for later โ˜บ๏ธ You can also omit the yogurt, Iโ€™ve made it without the yogurt plenty of times. You can also substitute the banana with applesauce or pumpkin purรฉe.

First of all, I want to share some stats/background. I am 47 years old (46 at time of WLS). I was 264 at my highest weight, which is also my weight before starting the pre-op diet. I was a plus size 20-22 in jeans, and a 2X in tops. My surgery date was 7/6/20. I reached my chosen goal weight of 150 on 2/26/21. My current weight is 132. I wear a S/XS in tops and a 0 or 2 in most pants/jeans. I am pretty tall at 5โ€™8โ€. My bra size went from 40DD to a 34B. I love my new body, being the fittest in my adult life, and being healthy. With that being said, I really miss having boobs. The loose skin on my butt folds uncomfortably under my tailbone when I sit or lay down. My tummy flops around unless I am wearing something tight or with compression. My legs are very saggy. I am scheduled for plastic surgery in Mexico on 5/29. I am going to get a belt lipectomy (360 tummy tuck), with butt lift, a breast lift, and breast augmentation. I am hopeful the belt lipectomy and time will make a thigh lift unnecessary in the future, but we will see. I really do not want the scars. My arms have a bit of loose skin, but not enough to make an arm lift necessary, IMO. I chose Mexico for price and proximity. I know Florida is better priced for plastic surgery than most, if not all, of the rest of the US, but I really do not want to travel that far (Nevada). I will be going alone and I will be there for 6 days. When I get home, I have my family to help take care of me, including my wound care nurse husband. I am super excited for this next step in my weight loss process and honestly canโ€™t wait to have boobs again! ๐Ÿ˜€ I have added some pics of pre-WLS (yikes๐Ÿ˜ž), and now, pre-plastics. I will post more as I as go, including after photos. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

    Weight loss stall

it's the infamous three-week stall. You just got it a little early. Almost everyone experiences that - if you do a search for it on this site, you'll find over 17,000 posts on it (and no, I am NOT kidding...). Mine was weeks 2 and 3. During week 4, it broke and I dropped something like 6-8 lbs in about two days. Just stick to your program and stay off the scale for a few days if you need to. It WILL break - they always do - and then you'll be on your way again.

    Low energy

Yes. the homestretch. I can't believe were I am. I haven't been this small since my early teens. Oh yes, because of the quick weight loss and my age, I definitely have loose skin. But I am working out and trying my hardest to fix this. I know it won't completely tighten up but I'm ok with that. I find it has been easy, mind you I also work to lose weight. I don't leave it up to the surgery. I work out 5 times per week, drink lots of water and really watch my intake. If you use the surgery as a helpful tool, you'll be successful. How are you making out? Are you feeling better?

    Low energy

Sorry, for the late reply. I am now 4.5 months after surgery and everything has fallen into place. Tons of energy, still losing weight. I'm 11 lbs from my goal weight. I have started back at the gym a couple of months ago, and now that we are on COVID lockdown, I am working out at home. I have so much energy that I can't help but exercise. Things are great! I hope things will as smooth for you as they did for me.

    What was/is your greatest fear?

I had two major fears: 1. I would have some sort of serious complication. For some reason, people delight in telling you horror stories once they know you are having bariatric surgery and all that gave me anxiety. 2. I was afraid it wouldn't work. I don't know why, I just wasn't confident that the surgery would be effective for me. As it turned out, both fears were unnecessary. I had no major issues with surgery and I'm happy with my results so far. ๐Ÿ™‚ And now I get to be a counter-example for all those horror stories, LOL.
