    Scared of losing weight

I guess I didn't really care - I just knew I didn't want to be fat anymore. I lost over 200 lbs, and this is what I looked like (I have since had plastic surgery - but this picture was taken BEFORE plastic surgery). For me (and many of us), the excess skin was easy to hide. I just wore 3/4 length (or longer) sleeves and slightly oversized, long-ish tops. Ta da! No more loose skin. Although you're right - you and your husband will know it's there, even if no one else does. I didn't like my loose skin, but on the other hand, I would have taken it any day of the week over being morbidly obese again. I don't know how old you are, how overweight you are, or how long you've been overweight, because all those play a role in how much loose skin you'll end up with. Some people really don't have all that much. I'm probably worst case scenario.

    Stress Eating Post-Sleeve

I would do a self care reboot and contact a therapist. For self care, I buy myself beautiful flowers (lavender colored roses are my fave), take a bubble bath, put on some music and dance, maybe get a massage or pedicure. Whatever you like and feels good!

I posted about this on the sleeve forum before. I developed GERD after my sleeve and was able to control it with one PPI a day until the end of 2020 where it's increased to two PPIs, 1 H2 and tums all day. Had issues with vomiting, nausea, stomach and chest pain. Difficulty swallowing. Sore throat since December. Had an endoscopy 3/3. Lax LES causing GERD, gastritis and a nodule in the antrum of the stomach that appears to be benign but will be removed in an endoscopic ultrasound in June as a precaution as it has a small risk of turning cancerous later on. Gastroenterologist referred me to my bariatric surgeon believing revision is needed. My surgeon wasn't sure on revision because I have lost all my excess weight with no regain. I have only been in maintenance for 4 months though. He sent me for a barium swallow. Had the barium swallow and the radiologist found esophogeal dysmotility and a hernia that the endoscopy had missed. Radiologist said I will either need a nissen fundoplication or revision to bypass along with hernia repair When I called my surgeon's office to schedule a follow up the nurse said something about maybe a hernia repair would be enough which left me feeling confused. I told her I want do whatever has the best chance of not having more complications or needing more surgery in the future. I had my galbladder out June 2020 after sleeve June 2019 and really just want to be healthy with no more surgery. My follow up is on Tuesday. I am not sure what my surgeon is going to recommend. From posts here it seems nissen isn't the best option for sleeve patients. Would hernia repair be enough or is revision to bypass the best option? I just don't want to be getting hernia repair and then still have reflux be a problem due to my esophagus and end up needing a revision later on.

this is my first post. Hey YALL 😀 I'm Bridgette I had the lap-band placed, corrected, removed within 3yrs of each other back in 2013. Had it removed in 2015. After gaining most of the 80lbs I loss back, I had the VSG in 2017.Since then I have been stuck at 260 for several months, I think the lowest I've gotten with the sleeve was 240ish even with diet and exercise.. the scale is not moving. I'm electing to have the bypass because of the severe GERDS and also to aid in my weight loss. I must admit after ALL of the surgeries I've had. I'm terrified of this one. I keep hearing about the pain being worse than any other. I wanted to get some feedback from others who have had similar surgeries. Can you all post before and after weight loss, and how you all handled the pain with this surgery.. My nerves are bad. Am I over thinking this or are my fears valid? Let me know. Feel free to follow my journey on my IG @sincerely.blj I'll follow back Also I downloaded the app for this website, Am I tripping or is it not working?😂

I have a virgin RNY, not a revision, but I had almost no pain with this surgery. Part of me wondered at first if he actually even did the surgery... most people getting a revision do get an immediate relief from GERD (not all - but most), and additional weight loss is around 20 lbs, but I'm sure that depends on your BMI and how hard you work at losing weight. I'm sure you can find people who've lost more than that.

    51 is the new 50!

Hi everyone [emoji5], I'm about to change my life for the better. After years of weight-loss struggles due to hysterectomy and hormones I finally got up the nerve to walk into a weight-loss clinic and forever change my life. Scary as it seemed the team at the center were and are beyond helpful and kind. Not only that but my Dr. Had bypass surgery himself so he knows all the struggles we will face. My greatest shock is I've suffered for 24 years with GERD and the Dr said you have a hienal hernia let's knock that out and get you a gastric sleeve and put this behind you. So here I am headed for scope and ultrasound next week then to the next step. Today I weight 236 at 5'4 yet I'm beautiful so I can not wait to find that hot mama [emoji7]just dying to be set free. Changes in relationships PO

wow !!!! I have been discussing this with my sister who will have this surgery next year and my niece who is 8 months out and looking fabulous and she warned me this is inevitable especially with females unfortunately and she told me to be ready with a comeback when they make little negative comments sooooo im gonna just say. I was morbid obese, had high blood pressure ,high cholesterol taking 8 pills a day and had severe sleep apnea sooooo let me get this straight you think I should have stayed like that rather than be and look like this??? WOW and just walk away...…..

I believe that "what you can never have again" is highly individualized. Like Lissa, I can't do white bread, it just seems to expand and cause painful pressure. Whole wheat bread, sliced thin and toasted, does fine. pizza has to be thin crust. Greasy foods, no way. Like Lissa, very spicy foods, uh uh. But mildly spiced does fine. Dry white meat, that hurts. Plain dry hard boiled eggs too. I did not drink soda pre-op, so don't miss it. I did drink Water by the buckets, but now I can't stand the taste and feel of it. I have to add Crystal Light. I really miss plain water. Been scared to death to try lettuce, don't know why! Other than these few things, I do fine with foods. And again, like Lissa, so worth the trade-off!
