    100 lbs!

101 to be exact. Just unbelievable that I've lost that much in less than six months. Went from 44 jeans to 34. BMI started at 44 and I'm down to 30. I'm so thankful that this was available to me.

Zero Pleasure In Food Post Op

Don’t worry your taste buds will return as will your enjoyment off food. I wasn’t hungry or interested in eating for quite some time after surgery. When I did eat everything tasted bland. I also became sensitive to certain flavours which became unpleasant & overly strong. Even certain textures were off putting. Foods I used to enjoy were disgusting. The first time I ate asparagus, which I loved, I thought I would vomit. It does pass.

    Sleeve VS bypass

Hello. I'm new here. My surgery date is May 10th for the sleeve. I am now leaning towards bypass because I already suffer from bad reflux. I need real advice from the ppl who've "been there" to be able to make up my mind on which direction to go. Height 5'0, Current weight 208. TIA!

One thing I think is an actual problem within the WLS surgery community is all the bragging about how little someone can eat. I've seen it a lot but not so much on this site. Someone will say what they are eating and other people chime in with oh I can't eat that much or I cant have 1,000 calories that's too much. It's a weird flex and I think makes people freak out they're eating too much. The truth is we all have slightly different needs following surgery. I'm a foot or more taller than some other women having surgery. I'm assuming that we would have very different caloric needs even if we are all losing weight. Some people are very active and others not so. I tend to trust the experts and just do what they tell me. Clearly if I were good at doing this myself I wouldn't have ended up here.

Does your blood work show you are lacking in any vitamins, etc. What’s your kidney & liver function like? Your sugar levels? A post nasal drip will often make you feel nauseous. I suffer from postural low blood pressure so suffer regularly from head spins & loss of vision. My energy levels aren’t great either & have had a few hypoglycaemic episodes - cold sweats, drop in blood pressure, drop in energy, vision narrowing, nose running, etc. I had these before I lost weight but just experience them more often now. But I’m no expert. I encourage you to get some detailed work ups from your medical team sooner than later. Good luck.

you're actually lucky - a lot of people can't eat any solids at all. The only thing "solid" I could eat was sugar free Jello (which I ate with abandon since it was the only thing I could have that resembled real food). Otherwise, it was no-calorie beverages, broth, and V8/tomato juice (and the last two were limited - I think a cup a day). And 4-5 protein shakes. It was tough..

    Plateauing & Aggravated

TY so much. If my body fluctuates after I hit the goal, then so be it. I just want so badly to see the number of my goal on the scale. Even if it is just once!
