    Failing miserably

Unless testing has confirmed it, don’t assume you’ve stretched your stomach. [B-side rant] My view (although no asked 😂) : If it were any other surgery like knee, hip or even a heart valve replacement no one would bat an eyelash if you needed extra time to adjust or if it needed to be repaired again. There would be no guilt or shame associated because it would be understood that you can’t stop yourself from using it or the wear associated with its use. But when it comes to weight loss surgery it seems like you get one chance to have it go perfect and then everything is your fault if it doesn’t. I have no clue where this ideas come from but I don’t think it helps us at all especially because it doesn’t seem to work like that with almost anything else in life. Please be kind to yourself ❤️

it's the infamous three week stall. If you do a search for it on this site, you'll find something like 17,000 posts on it. It happens to almost everyone. And as NovaLuna said, it's not always the third week, but sometime in the first month or so after surgery. Mine was weeks 2 & 3. It broke during week 4, and I lost like 6-8 lbs within a couple of days. Just stick to your program and stay off the scale if you need to - and rest assured that it WILL break.

    First Visit Complete!

Cleveland Clinic is one of the most respected in the world. You are lucky to live there and have access to such great care. It sounds like you have a great surgeon and confidence in him. I'm so glad your visit was a positive one. Congrats o surgery, it'll be here in no time!

    GONNA LOOSE IT

I’m sorry you are going through this. What is your surgeon telling you as to why this is happening or what you can do to get past this? What are they doing to help you with your fluid & food intake (dehydration must be a real concern) or reducing the nausea? What tests have they done? If they haven’t, start demanding something be done. My multivitamins used to make me nauseous & I often threw up in the morning but after that I’d be fine. But that’s nothing like you’re going through. I’m also surprised by your surgeon saying 10lbs a week is slow. It wouldn’t t even be considered slow if you were in excess of 500lbs. At your starting weight it’s a pretty darn fast rate of loss especially at three months out. I never got that chew, chew, chew thing. Just chew & swallow naturally. At three months you’re fully healed. I hope you can get some answers & a solution soon. All the best.

I have been using the small bowls and plates too. Funny thing is that it is plenty of food on those little plates!

    Mental hunger

I cleared a path from one end of house to the other and I would just start walking when I felt head hunger. Just back and forth from one end to the other for about five minutes was long enough to distract me and then I would go back to whatever I was doing. I also do this while I’m on the phone or if I have any anxiety and according to Apple Watch I get like 30 exercise minutes a day without really trying.

got to have a sense of humor !

here is to 2021!!! I live in a very small town and I am not much on social media. I have kept my WLS on the down low, not because I am ashamed but because I am not looking for support or BS from anyone. My husband we into town today to the local cafe (gossip central) to pick up eggs that I forgot to get on my regular grocery run and the old gal who runs the place announced to the whole joint, during the morning coffee run, how sorry she was to hear about my illness. My husband said "she is feeling good but I will tell her your thinking of her" she carried on to ask him how many rounds I would need. He replied " I believe this will do it". The word is I am going though chemo, LOL. I am not telling them any different......let them talk. Chemo or weight loss surgery regardless, I am getting thin!!!! LOL
