    First Surgeon Visit

For me I started my journey at the end of February and today is my FINAL required pre surgery doctor's (pulmonology) appointment. I'm hoping they will not require any additional testing and so that I can contact my surgeons office today have them submit my info to the insurance company. We'll see! Best of luck to everyone!!!

That totally makes sense. I don't either, so I hope I don't have to do the apnea test. We'll see.

    Living Rent Free

How about several women over 40 years including my saintly mother, sisters, daughters, female business owners I work with and other lady friends that I shacked with when younger? I didn't look for science...just men's emotions vs women's emotions. Pretty simple.

Personally, I don't think he meant it in the way you received it. I think of this surgery as an investment. And it's a great investment on myself for several reasons, not just appearance. I would say that my investment paid off. I don't think he meant it as a bad thing, I think he meant yeah, she's healthy she's happy, she looks great -life is good all around, type of meaning. Maybe write your feelings down on a piece of paper and consider it a thing of the past.

    Why am I hungry

I have also been ravenous since my surgery last Monday, but I can't stomach the sweetness of the protein shakes anymore so I've been having skim milk and water or crystal light. @Creekimp13 thank you for your explanation - many people have told me it was head hunger, but I didn't believe it was because I would literally eat a boiled unseasoned chicken breast right now if I could.

Slee e revision or gastric bypass

Great idea, i weighed myself daily for the first 4 years, rarely kept a food journal. I believe honestly that would hold me accountable which is definitely what is needed. Thank you a bunch Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Slee e revision or gastric bypass

if you're no longer logging your food intake, you might want to go back to that for awhile and see if it helps. I quit logging my food and weighing myself for about a month when I was in India last year (well, I didn't have access to a scale, so...). I wasn't eating like a pig or anything, but I came home a few lbs heavier than when I left. Through that I learned I have to monitor myself pretty much all the time, or my weight will start heading north. Although I know different things work for different people...(my dietitian hates the fact I count calories and weigh myself so much, but hey...whatever works. And that's been working for me for the past several years, so...)

    Lapband revision

Iโ€™m doing lap band to GB on dec. 17. I got my band in 2008 and it slipped in 2016. I originally got down to 190 with the band and up to 255 after it slipped. I had my bad refilled but it never worked the way it originally did and I was soooo hungry all the time, but eating was painful. My original surgeonโ€™s PA whom I normally saw refused to talk about revisions. He said since I was so successful with the band that I could make it work again. Fast forward three years where Iโ€™ve gained 50 pounds and spent over $5k on medical weight loss diets, etc. I pleaded for help one more time and a different surgeon in the office agreed to help. I originally wanted the sleeve, but my (new) surgeon said she would only do GB after removing a lap band because of safety issues regarding scar tissue from the original surgery. She said if I got the sleeve she would have to staple through the scar tissue and it could cause leaking. I trust her judgment so I decided with GB. I too was having problem with pain while eating and I had acid reflux issues at night. I had my surgeon take the fill out of my band and feel 100% better, and oh so hungry. Good luck with whatever you choose to do!!
