Haven't had surgery yet but how about those sites that send you clothes? Not sure if they are worth it, or if it works like I'm thinking but, maybe that would be a good way to try new clothes as you lose? Here is a site that has some tips: https://www.bariatricbody.co/post/12-step-guide-for-shopping-buying-and-making-your-clothing-wardrobe-work-after-bariatric-surgery

    Herbals After Bypass

Hi Marie, I actually just posted about this! I am only 8 weeks out and I had an edible on vacation. It was kind of nuts for me. I felt it intensely. I didn't really like it and I had a small piece. But for reference, I don't really take edibles often. I ate a lot and slept a lot on them. I feel like if I took them often it would definitely slow my progress.

    Why am I hungry

I have also been ravenous since my surgery last Monday, but I can't stomach the sweetness of the protein shakes anymore so I've been having skim milk and water or crystal light. @Creekimp13 thank you for your explanation - many people have told me it was head hunger, but I didn't believe it was because I would literally eat a boiled unseasoned chicken breast right now if I could.

Slee e revision or gastric bypass

Great idea, i weighed myself daily for the first 4 years, rarely kept a food journal. I believe honestly that would hold me accountable which is definitely what is needed. Thank you a bunch Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Slee e revision or gastric bypass

if you're no longer logging your food intake, you might want to go back to that for awhile and see if it helps. I quit logging my food and weighing myself for about a month when I was in India last year (well, I didn't have access to a scale, so...). I wasn't eating like a pig or anything, but I came home a few lbs heavier than when I left. Through that I learned I have to monitor myself pretty much all the time, or my weight will start heading north. Although I know different things work for different people...(my dietitian hates the fact I count calories and weigh myself so much, but hey...whatever works. And that's been working for me for the past several years, so...)

    Concerned about vegetables and fruit

When you are a year or two out, vegetables and fruit that's low on the glycemic index (most berries) are a great way to fill up if your appetite returns. Don't worry!

MK, I'm a year out and over 120 pounds down. I drink decaf diet coke, about 1 a day, sometimes 2. I also use a straw in my Water cup every day. I eat bread very rarely these days because it makes my sleeve hurt, and I used to LOVE fresh hot bread. I baked it every week for my family pre-op. Now I do well to eat a whole small tortilla...and I'm full for way too long afterwards, so I make that a very rare thing. As for what you can never have, there's not much that you can't ever have again. That's the beauty and frustration of the sleeve. You CAN eat whatever you want once you are past the post-op diet, but you'll find yourself needing to make better choices in order to meet your Protein goals. I eat very few veggies these days and find that I have to deliberately plan them into my diet, but I eat anything I like protein wise. My sleeve doesn't like bread and it doesn't like spicy foods, but I don't miss them either. For me, the sleeve has been a godsend..and I'd do it over again if I had to in order to lose almost 120 pounds in just over a year. What would you give up to weigh 120 pounds less? I think that bread and spicy food was a great trade for me! Good luck, whatever you decide.
