Feel Amazing almost 6 months out!

Almost 5 1/2 months out and down 77lbs! The first picture was taken the night before surgery... I'm thankful I have it for comparison. This Surgery has saved my life in so many ways. [emoji3059] Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app

Post Op gastric sleeve with GERD

I had gastric sleeve. I have regained a lot of my weight sitting around with the covid, just one poor excuse. I have no energy. I have GERD now and saw my doc. he is having me do a endoscopy and UGI. He thinks I will have to convert to GBP. Not being cynical, but of course he does, He is a surgeon. If I really focus and try to just take the weight off, wouldn't that be better than BPG. has anyone just did that?

    Nervous

Agreed! There will be some pain, but in a few days it will be gone. There will be growing pains...but you will be shrinking! I have been out to eat several times, I have had a few cocktails and I just ate the most scrumptious lobster bisque for lunch...made with last night's leftover lobster. Leftovers and appetizers will be a way of life...but things all work out!

    Not losing anything!

I “gained” seven pounds of fluid on the day of surgery, as they pumped me full of IV fluids so that I was less likely to be dehydrated the few days following. It took about a week to work through my system and then for my body to start healing from the shock of surgery. Depending on how far you are from surgery, it could be water retention or your body being in shock from surgery. If that’s the case, maybe give yourself some time and grace to begin recovering... If it has been much longer, more info would help us to help you.

    Rant/Vent: Failure

I'm right there with you. I had my sleeve in December of 2018, lost a fair amount of weight, not a ton, but it was slow-going and stopped after four months. I kept it off for 15 months. Then during COVID I put on 10-12 pounds and I'm having a hard time taking them off. I want to kick myself for going through major surgery only to screw it up again because I'm such a loser. But then I focus on what I need to be doing and get back on track and have been doing really well for the last 15 days. You can do it. Go back to basics. Get the protein in. Get the water in. Watch the portion sizes. You can do it!

First step is analyzing what exactly went wrong. Taking action comes after that.

I'm sorry you're going through a tough time right now. I agree with what the others have said. Also, I wanted to point you to a post from @BriarRose because she's been right where you are and she succeeded in re-losing the weight. I know it can seem hopeless, but she's proof it can be done!
